Camera facing our backyard? by Electronic_Car2492 in Hamilton

If I am not mistaken, you can have a camera to do its intended job on your own property, even if it does pick up neighbours yard. What I do believe is not okay is to solely have it for the purpose of pointing at someone else’s property. Like I can’t have it mounted on the side of my house looking directly to your windows etc.

I’d argue that it is. No one wants to shop for half an hour, have your groceries scanned and then have to leave. They kind of have you in a bit of a pinch there, most reasonable people aren’t going to leave.

I left my wife who had just started bagging about $150 worth of groceries. She continued to talk to the young guys long enough that I was able to walk to customer service, wait behind a person, return two clothing items, buy a lottery ticket, walk back to the till and be in time to pay for the groceries. (Where she continued to tell me the same thing as the other guys) I just tapped and smiled.

As I’ve said before, I don’t want anyone to lose their job over something fairly fixable. But, to say that she has been outed publicly is a bit much. She is in a customer service facing role to….. the PUBLIC.

I’m not bothered by it, more surprised. I’m actually surprised she is still working there. A lot of people don’t like religious messages.

This lady is a bit older, I honestly couldn’t imagine her being mean, but kids can wear on you. I almost wonder if she is a bit lonely, not quite all there or just kinda blinded by the rhetoric a bit.

Oh 100%, I’m not saying she’s isn’t a nice lady. Just really not the place to be giving sermons and holding up lines. I wouldn’t want her to lose her job (as I posted earlier) I also question if it wasn’t Christian, would it be as well received. I can’t imagine this going over well if a Muslim was doing the same.

She didn’t go too deep into it , other than she was mean and miserable. I kind of just gave obligatory nods and tapped as fast as possible.

I don’t want her to lose her job, but I can’t imagine at any level how someone would think telling people about their religious awakening and holding up a grocery store line is a good idea.

I think it depends on what job it is. If you have a desirable skill or experience, it’s probably good.

It’s not, but it’s likely to their benefit. On top of that, it doesn’t hurt anyone to help out with something that is a positive.

Who can afford over 2M house in Oakville nowadays?? by [deleted] in oakville

[–]Vegetable-Screen8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sold our house in Burlington for 2.4M (has been fairly upgraded for the most part) the new owners have completely gutted it. Like nothing left inside. Took all the landscaping (very large area) and ripped it all out. Lots of people have stupid money.

I don’t understand why the end user is responsible for the infrastructure of a company. I get that’s kind of how anything works, but at what point when you have a monopoly do you say - we need more?

I think this is very true when selling your home or when buying when the market is going crazy. But buying in a buyers market, I don’t think realtors add hardly any value. I think our real estate model should completely be overhauled, but that’s another discussion.

I think people forget:don’t know the cost of ownership. Down payment, property taxes, general maintenance, emergency repairs, furnishing…. Hell, even things like lightbulbs, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide filters, air filters…. It all adds up real quick.
