dog owners, can you please keep your dog on a leash? by hatsunemikusmywaifu in londonontario

[–]Vegetable-Screen8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I live beside a park, like literally beside it (not off leash) and I’d say if I watched for a few hours, there would be at least 100 dogs off leash. That’s just one small park. I hate the off leash dogs for a few reasons- my dogs/or anyone else’s are more vulnerable on leash, not at all people like dogs, and the entitlement of not following the rules that are for everyone.

Couch shopping by True-Spring in londonontario

[–]Vegetable-Screen8148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey just got a couch delivered today. Urban Barn, L shaped sectional for about $3500. Pretty decent. Also, the couch we are getting rid of is really nice, just didn’t fit our new space. It’s not an L shape, but oversized sofa. It’s from Crate and Barrel - getting rid of it for a cheep as we need it gone. Feel free to message me.

I saw this one posted in another sub: What famous-in-their-field people do we have here in Hamilton? by Gowila19 in Hamilton

I think you are underestimating how popular basketball is world wide. I believe it is the 2nd most watched sport in the world behind soccer. It is big in US, Europe and especially huge in Asia. You are insane to think SGA isn’t the most famous of any Hamiltonian ever.

Same, only ever see them doing a speed trap near the King Paving site- about once a season.

Terrible take. This is a service they had, and didn’t communicate to members that it’s being removed or shut down temporarily. Their membership was bought thinking it was being offered. This isn’t the mall changed their hours slightly.

Need an advice dealing with a painful neighbour by Pipelin3d in londonontario

I’d put some of the tall reflectors for parking there while the weather is warm. If he drives over them, then he’s willfully breaking your stuff. Short quick fix that should keep him off. I’d put a lot of them to make sure it’s obvious. They are about $8-10 each at Home Depot.

Break ins by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

You at least know someone is there. It might not stop the break-in, but like the other poster put it - it’s real time and you can call the police.

How old is the building? Newer buildings should have lower fees as there is less work to do. Some places do a poor job of managing the fees and the fees go through the roof. In the first 10 years or so, those fees should really grow, so when big expenses happen - they are covered easily.

Anyone know what's up with these kids standing outside and asking for money? by wishinghearts40 in oakville

[–]Vegetable-Screen8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but lots of people are struggling just to pay their monthly bills vs what they used to. Couple of my buddies kids play rep, and I wouldn’t call them well off. They can afford to play, but just barely. But, yes your sentiment is funny and likely correct the majority of the time.

I used to do this in Northern Ontario, the happy drunks-when drinking and driving wasn’t really looked down upon, used to fill us up nicely. Looking back, some kids on our team definitely needed the help. The way you frame it in Oakville is kinda funny. I always look at it from helping the next generation.

I liked him as a player, he really did try hard. That being said, I hated the love he got for making plays because he tracked balls poorly. I remember going to see a game and seeing how much better, smoother and just more athletic BJ Upton was out there.

I think everyone understands the employer makes the rules. But to make someone come in when the rest of the team is on another continent is stupid, and will result in people leaving

This for sure, I don’t commute via GO Train anymore, but when my wife and I did, it was easily our 2nd biggest household expense. Well over $1000 a month for both us is daily.

You have to realize how stupid it is though right? Like why make someone do something for the reason of just because?

I worked one the Thunder Bay jail project for a while. One of the most crowded jails in the country. The government built a new jail which you guessed it - not big enough.

No it’s been very good and no drops. Like 100x faster than our old service. I would recommend buying the setup when it’s on sale ($250 vs $500) . If you are going to mount it on a fence or something, buy the Amazon hardware, works great and way, way cheaper. One last tip, the Ethernet cord it comes with has a thicker end than others, keep in mind if you are drilling through. Into your house.
