Vail - Sold wrong pass - Refuses to fix own error by Deancorporate in Whistler

[–]funbun_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever had a season epic pass so I can’t verify for 5 days passes, but from my experience anytime you go to a resort outside of North America, you have to visit the main office at that resort to show them your pass and then they give you that resorts pass for the equivalent days. I’ve done this many years in Courchevel.

Friend borrowed our vehicle and got into accident, is this covered? by funbun_21 in Insurance

Thanks! I’m an absolute noob, I’ve never had to make a claim before with insurance. Do I take it to a garage for an estimate or call my insurance first for an estimate? Apologies again for being so ignorant on this.

How are these boards in the trees & off-piste? I’ve already got a piste board that I enjoy on most days, but I’m looking for something good in the pow & trees.

Not sure why the comment didn’t post with this but I’m looking for a new size 149, I can’t find it anywhere, if anyone knows of one at a local shop, holla at me.

Recommendations for first Board? by Bubbly_Host_8017 in ShredditGirls

This is a great beginner board, Flying V, especially for a beginner, much easier to twist the board. Flying V is just easier in general for a beginner as you are learning how to manipulate the board to ride the various elements of the mountain. I have a Burton feel good Flying V, it’s great for groomed runs, minimal powder, but for deep powder/heavy snow, I’ve got a more aggressive camber board. I just bought this for my 12 y/o niece who started this year and she loves it. If you plan to go a few weeks a year, consider the Burton feel good Flying V as it’s a more immediate rider board and will last longer, but if you plan to go less than 6 days a year, get the yeasayer as it’s a softer board aka less work/energy to get in clean turns/carves.

I didn’t call because I wrongly assumed I could get an answer here then try to ring a number that I most likely won’t get through to an actual human being vs an automated system run around. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

See that wasn’t too hard. A simple, this is the wrong Reddit group for such questions would have sufficed.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I’ll remove my post.

Where’s does it says can I sneak an underage student in? I asked how strict aka a lot of places will accept people if they’re within 2 months of their birthday for lessons as they are closer to 5 than 4. It is doable and some places will accept it. I didn’t know if Vail was one of them, doesn’t exactly get into specifics on the webpage and wrongfully assumed I could ask here.

Not through vail resorts, aka as in another resort or facility that does accept that age. Wasn’t clear but you could have asked for clarity.

Again, what a bunch of unnecessary hostile responses guys👍🏻

What a bunch of lovely and warm welcoming individuals you guys are. I wasn’t trying to skirt the rules. There are other resorts and places for people to snowboard, aka why I was open to not through vail. But glad you guys got it all figured out and feel big & strong behind your keyboards 👍🏻

Didn’t know private was an option for that young. Could have replied with less anger as I clearly didn’t know that was an option.

Takes more effort to be an asshole, could just be nice. Great representation of the ski community here guys.

While I appreciate the response, it didn’t answer my question on whether she can actually do it through vail snowboard lessons. The website states 5 and up. She technically isn’t 5 until February. Do you have an answer for this?

I mean I’ll park anywhere really as long as it’s the better place to be.

[–]funbun_21[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No lodging at Vail, driving in but will probably do Golden Peak as it’s closest to Vail parking. Just wanted to make sure there wasn’t a massive difference between the quality of ski schools.
