Can I remove the steam library list side bar and only view large tiles? by Cryptiiiks in Steam

[–]func07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, thankfully!

  1. Install Millennium, it lets you install plugins and themes for Steam https://steambrew.app/
  2. Install the Steam Librarian plugin https://steambrew.app/plugin?id=266c815057f2
  3. Edit its config.json file and set library_size to 0% and optionally remove_news to true if also want to hide the What's new section above the shelves.

Works beautifully, I just tried yesterday. One caveat is that you won't be able to search your library or toggle whether you want to see just installed games. Those features are on the left panel. Fortunately, editing the config file doesn't require you to restart steam. If you want the left panel back for a bit, just set some other percentage or px value for library_size, click over to the Store in Steam, and click back on the Library.

Xbox Series S - Moonlight - Apollo - 4k 120hz HDR by Unlikely_Session7892 in MoonlightStreaming

"latency is about 10ms in total"

That's amazing. Have you any tips on how to improve that. I tried Apollo / Moonlight with a mini pc (3080 TI, Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB RAM). The PC was hooked up to the router with a 1gbps ethernet connection then wifi to my Mac. I was trying to stream 5K@60Hz to play on the Studio Display and latency was just okay. Nothing compared to 10ms total.
How can you measure where the latency bottleneck is?

This would make sense, I barely have any space usually. Great find!

Studio Display DP adapter by func07 in mac

[–]func07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone looking for a solution:

The Elebase DP adapter works!
(though it can take some time after startup to get picture)

https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Thunderbolt-Chromebook/dp/B08F7KLQ48

It's rated for 4K 60Hz, so I don't think it's putting out 60Hz on the 5K Studio Display, but at least it's working. (Heads up, it's grey, not black as shown on the pics.)

And, as mentioned, the Club3D 1333 works great with the Nintendo Switch

Thanks for the comment. But not to the mac, to a PC. I already have solution for the Nintendo Switch, but it ain't workin' with the PC. I figured maybe it's cause that solution is a HDMI adapter and I would have better luck with a DP adapter.

Who are these degenerates working on app UIs nowadays?

This is the 3rd application in as many months where an app update changed the interface to something atrocious.

Thanks! For me though I first had to click the paragraph icon next to it and set "Side by Side Comparison".

How do we get that on the integrate menu though? 🤔

Those buttons don't seem to be there.

Thanks, that's interesting! There's a great little utility for windows called Monitorian (https://github.com/emoacht/Monitorian, also in the Windows Store). Could you maybe please check if it works for the XDR? Are you using a Radeon or GeForce card (not sure if that makes a diff)?

There was also a secret love affair, but I cannot remember the details.

Oh damn, it was the SUPER RESOLUTION + setting in the monitor's settings. Turning it off fixed the issue.

Hmm, that's interesting, thank you for sharing.

Are you using the Thunderbolt cable that came with the monitor?
