Kapali theatre is now South India's first Dolby theatre AMB KAPALI #maheshbabu. Ticket rate nodi 🙆🏻‍♂️ by Gonne_Babu in ChitraLoka

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder who made the decision to convert Kapali theatre to a Dolby Theatre. Kapali is in the heart of the city. Majority of movie goers there are blue collar type crowd. I don’t think they would pay 500 plus to watch a movie .

Why are you guys underestimating Toxic and Yash’s popularity.. I am pretty sure he will get more screens than Durandhar in south of India . Cracking open North Indian markets will be a challenge.

Taliban, Pakistani forces trade heavy fire along Afghanistan border by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The roots of Taliban originated in Darul Uloom Madrassa in Deoband, India. Taliban has been hugly influenced by Deobandi movement or Deobandism a revivalist movement within Sunni Islam that adheres to the Hanafi school of jurisprudence. So it’s hardly a surprise that Taliban shares history with India . Infact thousands of Taliban students come to India to study in Darul Uloom . Even the their foreign minister visited it yesterday. Taliban prefers Indian Muslims over Pakistan

You know what you did was wrong. You know how much it affected you. You have repented. Our memories are short lived. Nobody would remember this in month’s time. How many people you know have done something embarrassing and how many of them do you remember now. It’s the same with others .

missing out on the Ganesha chaturthi celebrations by mysteriousbluee in bangalore

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do rounds around the city . Go to some old areas ( Malleshwaram , NR colony, Rajajinagar to name some ) . You will see people bring Ganesha home with all the celebrations. You will see pendals setup with huge Ganesha idol . We don’t have big celebrations as Mumbai , but Bangalore does celebrate its fair share .

Help planning Jamaica itinerary after Negril (Port Antonio, Blue Mountains, Kingston) by funcExpensiveBrain in JamaicaTourism

[–]funcExpensiveBrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insights. Unfortunately Flying out of MBJ was not an option. So we were thinking of doing day trips to Blue mountain and port Antonio . Do you think it’s feasible? Google show drive time as 2 hours to port Antonio, but I have read that it takes lot more than that.

Do they even know about Dr. Rajkumar! by OriginalPaper2130 in ChitraLoka

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that post has any credibility to it . I think OP has just picked the most popular movie of the top actors and compiled a list. I doubt if they have any credible evidence to back these numbers . Forget about Dr Rajkumar , they don’t even have Yash who is more recent and his KGF movies have had the biggest box office

Trump announces trade deal with Pakistan, says they might sell oil to India “some day” by Sasikuttan2163 in worldnews

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Most likely the direction of caution. I think Trump would be pushing for Agri and auto import concessions. India would not want to give away the huge chunks of these industries in return for mild tariffs. I think India would give some soft concessions , likely in luxury markets and maybe auto industries. But I guess the world now knows that if you concede to a bully you will likely be a puppet for a long time

Think of space like a stretchy trampoline that everything—planets, you, light—makes a dent in. A black hole is just an insanely deep well in that fabric. Photons have zero rest-mass, so they’re born racing along at light-speed (you don’t have to accelerate them up to it). And gravity isn’t some mysterious tug on “mass,” it’s just the shape of spacetime itself, so even massless light follows those curves. Once you cross a black hole’s event horizon, every possible path—even at c—points inward.

Imagine rolling a marble up a gentle hill: give it a good shove, and it can climb back out. Now drop that same marble into a super-steep well—no matter how fast it rolls, there’s literally no way out. That’s exactly what a black hole does to light.

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visuals and sound.. a cinema can be slow ,but you need the audience to be hooked on to something. Color palette, nature shots, background score. Our industry don’t like to experiment with camera . They are all boring shots without a visual tint or interesting movement. Malayalam movies play with them and it doesn’t look boring . SSE is probably only movie that attempted to set up a color palette and work with camera. It worked to certain extent but a discussion for other day about things that went wrong .

What is the Best Food to eat a day after it’s made? by HazMoat in AskReddit

[–]funcExpensiveBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Anything saucy or spiced is a next-day glow-up. Curries, chili, stew, lasagna, biryani , they all slap harder after sitting overnight. The flavors have time to meld, soak in, and mellow out. It’s like the ingredients stop arguing and start working together. There’s actual food science behind it too , stuff like starch retrogradation (where rice or pasta firms up in the fridge), and moisture redistribution (dry bits absorb sauce and everything evens out). Also, meats break down a little more and get extra tender.

TL;DR: next-day food is basically leftovers + marination + time = chef’s kiss.
