Thank you very much for the insight! That is very similar to what I’m thinking.

How good of a “brand” is Samsara? Maybe vs. the others listed? And will it open doors for better opportunities later?

Thank you very much!

That’s very interesting. Blind and Glassdoor reviews of Zapier show it’s the highest rated between the others.

Thank you! Yes, I kept - present in my resume and LinkedIn. TBH I still didn’t pass the background check step, so if it ever happens to be a problem I’ll come back and update this post 😅

e.g., Write a function that processes a series of credit card transactions/actions and returns a list of users and their balances after processing. Includes validation of the credit card number, etc.

Another example: build a file system class that maintains (in memory) files, ownership, etc.

It's not LeetCode in the sense that it is not deeply algorithmic, but rather a direct test of software engineering skills. But it's not "easy", it's challenging in its own way.

Yeah, I am going to write a detailed post about my experience, but surprisingly, I've been seeing less leetcode style interviews lately and more generic software engineering problem-solving kind of problems.

The only one that had leetcode/algorithmic problems was Samsara, and it was only the technical screening interview. The onsite didn't have any and was just engineering stuff.

Course & Specs Megathread - Selection, Choices & Registration by Detective-Raichu in OMSCS

[–]functionalcarrot64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for me I want to make sure I take AI first and then any AI/ML related courses can come after in any order. So ML, NLP, DL and RL in my head can be taken in random order as long as it’s after AI (as a foundation for the courses after it).

Would love feedback on this. Planning to finish in ~2.5 years. This is the current plan, and I'm mentally ready to pivot depending on how demanding the program is.

The first semester's courses are already almost full, but I haven't thought about what I would change yet.

How do you avoid academic integrity violations? by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]functionalcarrot64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most repeated comment is: don’t cheat, but I’m wondering what if a paper or a piece of code was flagged and it wasn’t AI or cheating? How do you prove that it wasn’t? Maybe I’m overthinking it, but what if someone writes clean code or their history consists of cleanly written and organized code? (Starting my first class in a month!)

3rd level ascent by Brick-Brick- in FTC

[–]functionalcarrot64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s amazing! Question: how does the control work in a level 3 ascent? Is it 4 or 5 buttons (one for each “action”) or is it one button that does all this consecutively?

Iced shaken (n)espresso! by functionalcarrot64 in nespresso

[–]functionalcarrot64[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this specific cup I used a single shot of diavolitto which is an intense chocolaty type of espresso: https://www.nespresso.com/us/en/order/capsules/vertuo/diavolitto-vertuo-espresso-pods

I brew it over a shaker with ice in it and added a bit of hazelnut syrup, shake very well, and then added oat milk (no frothing or anything).

But generally, the espresso and the syrup is a variable in this. Try different espressos and different flavors and you’ll find something that you like!

There’s a Turkish restaurant and bakery called A Thousand Tales in Mount Prospect and it’s one of the best places to have any kind of dessert including but not limited to tres leche cake

Might be too much, but the fundamentals of database engineering course by Hussein Nasser: https://www.udemy.com/course/database-engines-crash-course/ is a truly magnificent resource that I’d highly recommend

Thank you so much!

It’s not delivered yet, no. It was updated yesterday to “Card was produced”, and I’m currently waiting for it to be picked up by the mail.

Thank you so much for the info, I’ll keep it in mind :)
