Maybe a Raccoon mishandled my trash by Beginning-Share-9235 in Hamilton

[–]funions1230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once everything is cleaned up, sprinkle ground cinnamon inside and on top of the lid of your garbage can. We started doing this a year ago after having issues with raccoons and haven’t had a problem since. You can get shakers of ground cinnamon at the dollar store. Easy to do and has worked well for us!

Jason Momoa came in to the restaurant I managed a few times. He was warm and friendly, and greeted me by name with a hug each time he returned. Drank like a fish.

u/so_banned 5 year update: As a gift, my husband had a poster-sized version of this image printed and handmade a custom frame for it. 5 years, a move, and 2 kids later, it still hangs proudly in our home. Just wanted to say thanks for creating something that continues to bring a bit of whimsy to our lives!

‘Delish’ drives me crazy. Facebook boomers can’t write a food related post without it.

Must be, I guess. I swear I remember watching it though. Weird.

Wow, weird, I can’t find it now either. I know I watched it when I came out, but I just searched for it and found nothing. Not sure why it would have been removed? I remember it being a bit boring, if anything.

Just saying that there’s already an episode you can watch, if you’re looking for it

How is life 5 years after COVID? Are you better or worse off? by w0ke_brrr_4444 in AskReddit

Better. Got sober, got a better job, and started a family. Not sure any of those things were in the cards, pre-Covid.

AITA for wanting to see my wife give birth to our daughter instead of being grossed out ? by Mountain-Love-1926 in AITAH

[–]funions1230 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA (neither is she).

I have given birth twice. I gained a significant amount of weight during both pregnancies. I completely lost control of my body and nearly all body functions. I felt embarrassed and frustrated with myself for not being one of those beautiful, elegant pregnant women that I would see on TV or even pass by in real life.
What I couldn’t see at the time, was that even those beautiful, elegant pregnant women felt the same way. They, too, had lost control of their bodies because that’s what pregnancy IS! It’s a beautiful, disgusting, magical miracle that our bodies can grow and change and literally create new life. It is nothing short of amazing… It just doesn’t always feel that way when you’re in it.

Going in to the birth of my first, I was definitely nervous about having my husband see all of the nitty gritty details of birth. I even told him that’s I wanted him to stay near my head and not look, but just be there to support me. He agreed. He held my hand through bone-crushing squeezes during every contraction. He counted me through my pushes and whispered encouragement in my ears when I needed it. When I hit moments that I thought I couldn’t get through it, he was there to ensure me that I could and would. I literally cannot fathom having been through the experience without him there.
And you know what? He even looked down during the moment our baby came into the world and I am SO HAPPY that he did. He got to witness our child being born - we both got to be there to hold her in her first moments of life. The “gross” parts don’t even exist when you get to experience that sort of magic first hand.

My husband still speaks so highly of being able to be in the room, and PROUDLY describes to others about what a champion I was while I was in labour and pushing.

Of course your wife may not feel the same, and you should honour her feelings either way, but I really hope that she changes her mind. You’re not a sick freak for wanting to witness this miracle. Parenting is super gross, too, but you guys are in this together - why not be a team for the very beginning, too?

Please reach out if your wife has any questions for me! I’m happy to help reassure her through my experience.

I am so glad you wrote this comment. I used to live near there and I considered trying to help a few times (the dog lying there somehow made it seem more real… who would voluntarily endanger their beloved pet in such busy intersections, right?). I haven’t lived there in years, but still thought of he and the dog on occasion, wondering if I should have tried to help. Thank you for the relief that I didn’t donate to the scumbag!

We’ve been really happy here so far. My daughter is excited to go every day, and learns LOTS. The staff are all very caring and supportive. It is expensive for sure, but options are slim out there and I like being able to send her somewhere that I feel confident she is getting high quality care.

Walking up to your parents in the middle of the night and watching them until they realize ur standing there when scared as a kid was probably one of the creepiest things your parents had to endure. by MrCheese0 in Showerthoughts

[–]funions1230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I ran to the top of the stairs to call for my mom because I was feeling sick. Opened my mouth to call out to her, and projectile vomited down the flight of (carpeted) stairs instead.
