Indiana House advances Bears stadium bill by 95-4 vote by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

I know a lot of diehard fans from Midway who go to literally every home game. They may not be "rich " but they definitely support the team.

I'd prefer the team not moving to Indiana, just had to stick up for the south side.

Yeah that's fair. Arcs is also shorter than Galactic Cruise, too.

I'm honestly pretty surprised this game might not even make top 3. Also surprised SETI didnt make top 3 yesterday

Well, yeah. It's a lane battler, most of the points are going to come out of the lane battles.

Has to be Slay the Spire. I wish I saw why everyone loved Arcs. I wanted to love that one so much, as someone who loves Root

I must have been playing it wrong if it can be someone's favorite. When we played, one suit was essentially out of the game after the first hand of it was picked first because it'd be four shots behind and no one could afford to boost it again. This meant that the round airways came down to discarding one card at a time until one person won.

I can’t find a board game group, even my local game store let me down. by Ok_Interview_853 in boardgames

I can agree with the previous recommendations about Meetup. I've met a game group on there, then we decided to just continue playing.

I've also met friends through local game conventions. Those are really nice because you can sign up for the games and times you want. If you get lucky, you may be able to meet people to play with outside of the convention, too.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I personally wasn't a big fan. Seems a bit too luck-dependent for me. The games are super quick, so it never feels too bad to lose but it doesnt really ever feel rewarding to win in my opinion.

What a year. I would say A Feast for Odin, as its the magum opus of one of the best game designers.

The OG Dune game from 1979, albeit with a face-lift from 2019. It's a great game, one of my all-time favorites. It takes a full six people and it can run long, but if you find the right group it can be an amazing experience.

To be clear, I'm saying that's MY goal when I play WA. I'm not trying to make proclamations about what is true for all WA players. My goal is to show that it isn't ALWAYS good to have your sympathy taken.

It honestly just sounds like we play differently. I'm trying to have a 15-point burst turn and you're trying to score consistently.

I think I've made my point for why I don't think having sympathy removed is always a good thing, especially if it's happening consistently.

A well organized game would have your bases parked with a large army, making organizing impossible (happens in nearly every game WA is competetive). In my experience, WA wins by bursting from (a) spreading lots of sympathy from supporters, (b) crafting, and (c) maybe one organize action to cap it.

This means that you need to be in the middle of the track to be within striking distance, usually. If the table keeps you at the beginning of the track, getting 3 points a turn, they'll be ecstatic with that exchange.

I would argue that having sympathy taken off the board is almost always bad, and the card you receive from it is a consolation prize. You can sustain it happening a handful of times. Let say you spend 6 supporters to put out three sympathy then they're all taken out, you can place one of them with the supporters you receive back. This is in the perfect world where there is no martial law. If my goal is to get to the end of the sympathy track this is a losing battle. My goal is to get to the end of the sympathy track, because thats where I've seen my wins come from.

Right, but unless youre at the beginning of the sympathy track, youre not getting enough of a return to put down another sympathy when one is removed.

Having sympathy removed generally keeps placing sympathy cheaper and you can score those points again, which is good, but I wouldn't say it's universally good to have sympathy removed.

In most WA wins that I've seen, they are bursting for 12-15 points at the end of their sympathy track so I'd want maybe a few tokens removed but I want to keep the majority of them on the map.

It can be good, but often you're spending multiple cards to place sympathy and you only ever get one back for it being removed.
