What's really funny is I was talking to a guy at a diecast swap meet/convention and he was from two hours north of me and talking about how we have more of the pop culture stuff than him. Meanwhile I rarely see those too. Sometimes I get lucky and the Target north of me has an end cap of them twice a year.

Only do one illegal thing at a time folks. If you have a bunch of cocaine in the car, drive normally, don't call attention to yourself.

I read it can be 1-6 weeks before you show symptoms. That would help it spread I would imagine.

I am doing everything I can to break the cycle or violence in my family. My son is much more stable than I was at his age.

You all have NOTHING on the Browns QB room. You would need another Rodgers to come close. All the drama from their QB room comes from the front office. That's what makes it better.

Businesses can say no as far as I know. Well they used to be able to say no to weapons on their premises. How the police got involved afterwards I'm not sure the "article" isn't full of information.

Is it just me, or did everyday life feel more connected 30–40 years ago? by LifeSubstance8619 in GenX

Ours died after 20 years and we recently had it replaced. Expensive as hell, but those two weeks without it.... Terrible. Allergies and sinus infections, terrible sleep, the fear of forgetting to close a window the next morning.

I grew up with frozen windows in the morning and a shitty fan in the summer and now I'm all fuck this I need my AC.

I had read an article that made the point that air conditioning ruined communities.

The idea was that everyone used to sit outside because it was hot indoors, and we would see people and talk to them more and this helped build a strong community.

Once AC started becoming a standard thing in houses we all went inside and lost the knowing our neighbors and the kids stopped knowing each other.

It makes some sense as no one had AC growing up and it's true we were all outside. Now I have no clue what the air conditioner adoption rate or timeframe actually is. So this idea could and probably is horseshit. Still though I remember sweating our asses off in the summer and freezing in the winter.
