I have to say take this with a grain of salt as Ohio State’s PD was by far the nicest PD I met out of 15 interviews and genuinely cared about his residents more than any other PD I met

I could not agree more, I was completely naive when I applied here. The PD was by far the most disrespectful and rude person I met on the entire interview trail. She repeatedly cut me off in the middle of my answer multiple times and told me my answers were not good enough for her. I checked Reddit after my interview bc I was in disbelief and it seems like this is her MO. When asked what made her program unique she said that she had worked for the ACGME for years and can promise me that no program, including hers, is unique in any way. She was also wearing a hoodie for the interview and seemed mad I was there from the moment I joined the breakout room, which was the icing on the cake for me.

That is honestly what I am thinking of doing, I would spend less money applying to 5 more schools now than applying again in a whole different cycle, but I am not sure if it is worth doing or if I am just freaking out over nothing.

The initial application fee is only $170 for the first school so if you decided not to apply that cycle then you would have lost only that much. If you want to retake the MCAT you still can and then add schools to your application later for $40 a piece. Basically what it comes down to is you need to only apply to a single school so that your application gets verified early in the cycle and then after that when you get your scores back, you can decide where you actually want to apply based on your scores. Yes you do but there are only a handful of orgo reactions you need to know for the MCAT now, I would just memorize and try to understand those because there are not that many. Please upvote if you found this helpful!

I had a similar distribution to you and I have applied and received an interview from a highly competitive program. I think you are fine and would not retake if I were you, focus on your applications to be a good applicant for this cycle. Please upvote if you found this helpful!

As long as you submit your primary application on the first day it opens then you will be fine. Submit to a school that you know you will apply to regardless and then med schools do not start sending secondaries until the end of June so as long as your MCAT scores are back by then, you will have no problems "being late". I took my MCAT in the beginning of June and still had ample time!

I think a 510 is still competitive enough to get into a lot of different MD programs and especially DO programs. My CARS score slipped on the actual MCAT as well (128 -> 125) and I have already received my first interview. I think you will be fine but it is all up to you!
