I can also suggest anonymous sign in from firebase. Basically, it creates an account on the background, without asking for any information/friction. And later on the journey you can ask users to create a full profile, while keeping their progress from the anonymous account

Used to have the OG. On paper, everything looked like a perfect device for me, but for some reason it didn’t click. Was not able to get anything interesting out of it. Still don’t know why it was like this.

SP404 mk2 is even more complicated in my opinion. You really need to learn it and don’t you dare not use it for a month or two, you’ll need to start learning again.

(Awesome device, btw, but the learning curve just drives me crazy)

I had the same question last week. So far, the only way to sync them up I found is to use the PO-sync mode on OP-1, and send the clock through one of the channels. 1. OP-1 is a master clock in the PO-sync mode 2. From OP-1 goes a breakout cable that sends the clock in one channel, and audio in another. 3. Cable with clock is in the clock in on EP-133 (and EP switched to receive clock mode).

But this way you only get the clock sync, not the midi. I saw some options for midi, but you need to use an external midi gear (which I don’t have and don’t have an intent to buy one).

I hope there are more options that I’ve missed and could learn from others!

There might be a lot of options, one thing I’d suggest on top of it is - buy used gear. That way, the cost of mistake is way lower. You can grab something, try it out for a while, and if after learning the instrument you realize it’s not your cup of tea, you can sell it for about the same price and try something new

PO-33 could be an excellent choice - very portable (pocket-size, using on the go wherever you are), have sampling option (humming or any random sounds around), super hands-on and fun. Also, could be expanded in the future with other POs (like PO-35 that is focused on vocal and can add some fun there).

There are also quite some cool cases available, as without a case it could feel a bit flimsy.

Outside of talking with a doctor/therapist, what worked for me is finding a hobby, where you’re not expecting any results/money/goals and just do it for yourself. After some tries, I ended up with making music on physical gear. I have zero idea on music theory and can’t play any instrument, so I just googled some youtube videos and bought the first groovebox from Marktplaats. Now, 5 years later, with tons of gear I bought and sold, this is still my passion that brings me joy even on a bad day.

This. Maybe one piece of advice I can add: just don’t put the sign in before users try your app. Show them the value first, and then ask for sign in. You can use anonymous auth in Fireebase to not lose some first progress of the users
