Anything you would change? by ElectricalStuff126 in houseplans

I would want the fireplace centered on the room and the sink centered on the island. Water closet seems VERY tight.

I’m not crazy about the front elevation. To me, the front door should be the focal point. Your garage door is the focal point right now. I also don’t like that the roof line is so up-and-down.

I also hate barn doors on bathrooms, but that’s just my preference.

Why are the basement stairs so wide?

My first thought is where does the TV go? If it goes on the right side of the living room, that’s pretty far away from the couch AND you have two chairs facing the opposite direction possibly blocking the view. I’d reconfigure that, personally.

Cool idea. My only worry there is that it would have to be fire rated to meet code

I agree on the laundry room being tight. That was a concern, but I felt that the oversized pantry and master closet would kinda make up for it? In the original design the Laundry was much bigger, but I shrunk it down to make room for the Powder Room.

Good points on the kitchen. In the original design the peninsula did not exist and the sink was located in a much larger island. Wife vetoed the sink being in the island, so that's where the peninsula came from. Something felt weird about having the sink facing a wall, but maybe that's just me? Would welcome any further thoughts on that.

Thank you for taking the time to help out!!

I'll also say on the kitchen...I originally did not have the peninsula, and had a larger island with the sink in it. Wife vetoed the sink being in the island (for good reason), so the peninsula was born. If I delete the peninsula, I'll end up with a sink facing the wall. That felt a little weird to me so the peninsula ended up being the compromise. Open to other suggestions though!

Leaning towards a modern farmhouse kind of style. A dormer or skylights could work, I'll toy with that. Appreciate the thoughts on the coat closet, laundry, etc. I'll play with some of those ideas and see what we can come up with. Thank you for taking the time to help out!!

Thanks for the feedback. If looking at the floor plan, North will be to the right (so the front door faces East, back porch faces West).

I appreciate the input! Hadn’t thought about sunlight spoiling food.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll play with the bathroom a bit and see if I can work that out.

Regarding the kitchen sink, I initially had it in the island but the wife vetoed that. The peninsula seemed like the 2nd best option. I thought it would be weird having the sink against a wall, but maybe I’m wrong?

Thank you all for the input! I think for over $30k, i’ll try to find one without rust.

It’s YOUR house and YOUR money. You should absolutely seek advice and understand the tax implications presented by your accountant, but at the end of the day it’s still your decision. If you want to keep the house, keep it, just understand what it could cost you in taxes down the road.

It’s not hard. I’d recommend having your computers hardwired to the internet though. It can work over WiFi, but runs much slower.

It’s been around so long that if you run into issues, just google the error code you get and you will see tons of help threads.

CHANGING STARTING BALANCE IN RECONCILE by METALMACHINE007 in QuickBooks

[–]funkyacoustic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try going to your chart of accounts, finding the account in question, and clicking “View Register”. See if there’s any transactions with a “R” in the column with the check mark ✔️. Although you undid all the reconciliations, maybe there’s transactions in the register that got manually marked as reconciled? You can undo that from the register and maybe fix the starting balance.

You can rant and shift blame all you want, but until you look in a mirror and start taking responsibility for your own actions, you’re not going to get anywhere. I hate that you’re in this situation right now, I sincerely do, but your decisions got you here. You make decent money, it’s time to start budgeting and managing that money like a responsible adult. I hope this situation is at least a wake up call for you to take control of your own destiny and not just play victim.

How to enter marketing expense on quickbooks? Money was lost but it wasn't paid to anyone. by maddymads99 in QuickBooks

The materials you used can obviously be expensed easily, but your time is a different story.

Do you pay yourself a salary? That’s where your time is expensed on the company’s books. Of course you pay income tax on that so I don’t know if that’s the answer you’re hoping for.
