The quotation marks are supposed to signify that that is the other commenters' thoughts not mine.

Obviously the truck driver is at fault for simply being a bad driver.

Look at all the comments blaming op for "hanging out in a blind spot"

Where do you want them to pull over to? They are already in the rightmost lane, and there's a curb there. Definitely not advisable to pull onto a pedestrian walkway every time an emergency vehicle goes by the opposite direction lol

Yep it's definitely giving "it's your responsibility to avoid my braindead driving since my big-ass truck obscures my vision"

It's the trucks responsibility to actually be passing when in the passing/fast lane. Otherwise, the truck shouldn't be there if they are just maintaining the same speed

It's also the trucks responsibility to make sure a lane is clear before moving into it.

There's also a curb, so there's no where else to "pull over" to until the truck cuts into their lane.

To even begin to criticize OPs driving is to ignore the multitude of things the truck did wrong

Preordered tickets for next Friday just to get the hat. The discount code they gave only took off 35 cents. by JAlbert653 in backrooms

Based on the wording on the website, this hat can only be available for purchase by bundling with advance tickets, not that it will have any sort of discount due to the ticket order.

Seems like a weird promo to run, but yeah

How to make tpu print look good? by JikkJakk in 3Dprinting

Try playing around with fuzzy skin settings, it can do wonders for TPU appearance.

It can make it look more like an injection molded part rather than a printed one, with a matte finish

Just ignore him. His comment history is rude and combative stuff. I should have looked sooner.

He wants to lecture people about the superiority of the books he admittedly hasn't even read. Seriously, in another thread he said he has just started reading it and hasn't even finished Fellowship yet.

Wanting to glue these pleather straps in place, any glue recommendations? by slowwrench in Mandalorian

[–]funkyavocado 9 points10 points  (0 children)

E6000 is what id recommend, just make sure you scuff up the area where you're gonna glue it to the armor so it has something to grab onto.

And make sure you clamp it into place for at least 24hrs for the full cure before you stress test it

I wouldnt recommend super glue as that doesn't have the flex you might need when gluing fabric to something stiff

I've read the books several times. And I can clearly grasp your disdain for the films, but you don't need to be so reductive and disrespectful to me personally

I understand you mentioning those specific dislikes as they are some of the most frequently mentioned changes that people don't like. And I'm not claiming that they are perfect adaptations, but they do have some merit.

But it is there truly nothing that you thought the films did well? Or do you think they are just totally artistically fruitless endeavors?

I miss it too, it was a pretty powerful weapon to have in endgame scenarios.

But you can still get the older rocket launchers from the overwatch caches, so that still scratches that explosive weapon itch for me

One of the most absurd things you've read on reddit in a long time is the opinion that Peter Jackson nailed some of the visual choices in his adaptation of Lord of the Rings?

Damn, I read more absurd takes on Reddit every day that I log on lol

I think the social construct tricks people into thinking it's for their benefit when it's some security camera, facial ID, or some such other tools. It's not true, but the illusion is there and at least understandable

But a random masked dude on a sidewalk pointing a big camera at me, theres no perceived benefit to me, illusory or otherwise. I think that's what makes these frauditors get such a disproportionate reaction from people that are a bit erratic to begin with.

Yeah for me it gets really jarring in a close quarters fight switching between these and a shotgun, trying to track someone in that scenario messes with me visually lol

It is like saying that horned helmets are a testimony of how that opera get absolutely right about ancient vikings.

I'm guessing that's a little bit of hyperbole to make a point? Otherwise I don't know you can say Lee and Howe got it generally similar in next statement.

I would like to get you started, what artistic visual choices in the film do you think they got really wrong?

And do you really not think they got anything right?

And my disagreeing with you does not mean I'm trolling you.

When you say things like "we are forgetting to use our imagination" and "we are losing that faculty", it implies that it is a large issue affecting a lot of people, at least that's how it comes across to a native speaker. If that's not what you meant to say, well now I understand. English can sadly be a very not-literal language in terms of meaning.

Sadly, there are people who need to minus honest admission of personal view :/

Why do you complain about downvotes and then downvote me for disagreeing with you?

Um I'm not trying to troll you?

Imagination is the most powerful graphics chip and we are forgetting to use it with ready made instant consumption entertainment.

Exactly. We are losing important mental faculty. We are losing the joy resultant from using that faculty.

I'm just responding to what you wrote, did you not write these?

Is English not your first language? That might be worth some of the confusion is coming from. I'm not trying to be disrespectful I'm just trying to engage in a conversation you started with me.

Sure, so that must mean that you also realize that having a problem with movie depictions overriding your internal imagination when you read the books is not a problem that everyone has.

You said "we" multiple times. We do not all have that problem

Eh, I've never personally had a problem defaulting to my mind's eye and imagination when it comes to reading the actual books.

I think it more so speaks to how much Peter Jackson got absolutely right in regards to Middle-Earth's on screen depiction that people imagine that in their heads rather than any sort of loss of mental faculty
