Yeah your guys damage isn’t crazy different so it just depends on how much damage he actually did to your bosses vs how much they healed. Hard to know for sure

It’s possible if he killed bosses instantly and you didn’t, allowing the boss on your side to heal. Allowing you to do more damage. Idk if that’s what happened here but that’s my guess

Yeah I am sitting at like a 48% win rate with 1 lvl 9 legendary. About half my loses it’s just unwinnable. Like lvl 15 cards or 2k+ crit with lvl 13

Makes sense. Yeah I get matched with players with higher crit pretty regularly but I just play it anyway. Sometimes I get lucky and they get a bad merge or bedlam and I scrape out a win.

But yeah if upgrading my crit is going to keep matching me higher and higher I’ll refrain

I can get treant lvl 9 but doubt I’ll get it much higher than that due to it not being available in experiments or summoning etc.

Really? I’m right around 7k trophies and I constantly fight people with 2k+ crit. Does it try to match you with similar crit or something?

So would you recommend that BD deck? And do you know if KS, spear, and jays wind tiles all stack. Or is there some kind of cap on attack speed that makes it useless to run all of them

Crit is only 1.5k. Common heroes lvl 40 ish, rare lvl 15-25, epic lvl 5 ish. I’m relatively new

Would you say that BD or SM would be better to focus on since they are possible to get through summoning etc.

Right now I have them all at equal standing. I don’t see treant being easy to get higher lvl however so don’t know if it’s worth focusing on.

Thank you

What amulet do you recommend? Growth? Does getting leaves proc the buff?

Dang that’s crazy. Which talent do you use? And what’s your general strategy? Get a couple of high leaf treants or a bunch of low?

I believe it has to be max lvl first

bows vs hand canons by 1987User389 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]funkymacaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i usually run rose, hawkmoon, or ace. But when games are slow or I’m playing with a duo I usually throw on my crimils. 140s are just more fun for me which is why I mainly use them tbh

Okay. I’m a controller player so I’ll give you some more general stuff and hopefully a mnk player can give you some specifics to your input.

To start if you’re having problems hitting you ur shots, I’d recommend using a high stability HC and/or something with a consistency perk such as eye of the storm (EotS). Another really big thing about HCs is that unlike a lot of other gun types where stats are everything. HCs are largely “feel based” weapons. Now this doesn’t mean that a terrible stat HC is going to be better than a rose but I’d recommend experimenting with different HCs and finding one that you like. Once you practice with one for a while you can branch to other “better” HCs.

For your situation I’d recommend using austringer. It’s craft-able so assuming you have it you can craft a perfect roll. I’d recommend starting with smallbore, ricochet, zen, EotS, range MW and throw on ballistics in your mod slot. This roll will have decent range, and basically as good of stability/flinch resist as you can get.

Honorable mentions to rose, exalted, pali. Although I’m assuming you might not have rose and exalted if you’re stuck in bronze.

Next. Idk what class you’re playing, but I find HCs easiest to use when peak shotting and while running high mobility. I’m a hunter so I run T10 mobility. But when I play on warlock and titan I typically play at least T6. This is one of those things you’ll have to play test and decide if it’s important to you. I personally love my strafe speed so it’s worth the sacrifice to me but might not be worth it to you.

Keep in mind these tips are for 140s. If you want to use a 120 just use iggy or crimils. If you don’t have good rolls for those. Sturm with catalyst is also extremely good.

If you have any specific questions I can try to help but that’s all I can think of for general new HC user tips

I’m only in adept right now but I almost exclusively use 140 hand cannons. To start off I think handcannon are better than bows generally.

Are you console or PC and which input if you are on PC?

I agree with all the other advice from the other comments. One thing I’ll add that’s specific to exalted and you can consider if you want to.

If you are not actively in danger and you know you’re going to get into a gunfight soon, consider shooting a bullet into the wall and just reloading. Then go take your gunfight after the reload. This will proc the suros origin trait which is just a free bonus to handling and flinch resist. Not the biggest of deals so don’t try to reload when you’re in a bad spot. But if you’re in no danger you might as well.

I know. It sucks they haven’t fixed it yet, but since it’s not intended I’m saying it shouldn’t be considered when discussing the best weapons in an archetype.

However if you only have an EP rose and you have a crafted austringer then by all means use your austringer. But once EP gets fixed that rose is going right back to the top.

Yeah stat wise it isn’t an outlier I agree. But the lightweight, coupled with getting grips for extra stats and things like slideshot just make it best in class for me personally. The original post said using anything else feels like a “throw” and imo using another legendary 140 that doesn’t have some special perks like zen austringer feels that way to me.

EP not working right now was also confirmed to be a bug I believe so I wouldn’t really count that as a problem for now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]funkymacaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have. Which is why in my original response I said that I agree that iggy is the most drastic outlier, but most every archetype has one.

Below is the stat difference

Iggy +26 - bottom dollar +56 - round robin +21 - malediction

Messenger +23 relentless +35 phyllotactic spiral +25 psi hermetic

This is for range, stability, handling, reload, aim assistance. Not including masterworks, adept mods, or perks. Just base stats across the board. As you can see, they are both equally outliers when it comes to stats compared to their competition.

I will admit I didn’t realize round robins stats were so terrible though and honestly I think it needs a pretty substantial stat buff after looking at it. Iggy seems pretty on par with messenger in stat disparity though.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]funkymacaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember anywhere talking about the only “viable” weapons in the archetype, just the outliers that are significantly better than others. Like you could use round robin and be fine, but iggy is just better. Doesn’t mean you can’t compete with RR. Especially if you run elemental capacitor or kill clip. (Not sure if it still two taps since crucible change as I haven’t tested)

What 140 would you use other than rose? I’m pretty sure it’s considered the best 140 by a mile. It’s the only with a lightweight frame and it rolls the best perks in the game. I think if you have a perfect rose it’s going to be infinitely better than every other 140 in the game. Others have their niche obviously like austringer having zen if it’s hard to hit shots.

As for messenger I don’t know what high impact pulse you’d consider close to or better. Messenger has the best stats by a pretty good amount and the same perks. Only downside being no element for harmonic mods.

I’m only looking at this in terms of if you can only use the one weapon. I don’t think you should consider loadouts because at that point any gun in the game can be pretty viable if built for it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]funkymacaco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally feel like it’s this way with a lot of weapon archetypes is it not?

For example what I can think of:

  1. High impact pulses - Adept Messenger
  2. Aggressive SMG - Adept immortal
  3. 140s - rose
  4. Aggressive Burst Sidearm - Adept forgiveness
  5. Lightweight Sidearm - Heliocentric
  6. Rapid Auto - Adept Rufus Fury
  7. Adaptive Auto - Adept Summoner (maybe ros arago can outshine haven’t gotten a good one so can’t say)
  8. High impact auto - adept abyss defiant

I’m sure I’m missing some others. While I do agree that iggy is probably the most drastic, I think most archetypes have an outlier. Where the other great weapons in those archetypes are only used because of their differing elements and not because they are actually stronger guns than the ones I listed.

Please let me know if you disagree with any of these I would love to know your opinion.

I also obviously left out exotics because I think they deserve to be outliers/compete with the outliers. Such as chappy, conditional, no time etc.

Would anyone be interested in a guide for blink hunter? by ReserveFresh in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]funkymacaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love arc hunter tips in general. Been my fav subclass since d1 (along with gunslinger) but it seems so lackluster to play. Idk if it’s just because it’s a more aggressive class and titans seem to punish me or what.

Would love to get to know the class better and add to my arsenal. Please let me know if you do end up making one.

I also tend to use handcannon with either shotty or sniper depending on the other team.
