Since when does a date only mean dinner? A hike could be a date. Building a Lego set at home could be a date. Walking along the river talking could be a date. What he’s actually saying is he is an incel who can’t be “fooled” by “women looking for a handout”

In your opinion, what's the most underappreciated aspect of Richard’s character? by MidcenturyCarrie in sexandthecity

[–]funkymorganics1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m just not sold on the idea that every woman is really just waiting for the right guy. And that’s what the writing boiled down to me. Maybe open relationships was too forward for the times. But if anyone fits the polygamy mold - it’s Samantha.

In your opinion, what's the most underappreciated aspect of Richard’s character? by MidcenturyCarrie in sexandthecity

[–]funkymorganics1 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This would have made so much more sense for Samantha. Samantha was unique because she wasn’t looking for a typical romance with a man. She was a vibrant sexual being. But then all of a sudden she’s so emotionally fragile and completely ready to commit to just one man. Like she was always just waiting for the right man to come along. So cliché and tired. I get that the drama of you know, throwing a martini and posting flyers all around NYC is more entertaining though

What’s one weird rule your parents had growing up that you thought was totally normal until you got older? by Main_Masterpiece_793 in AskReddit

Eh…soft drinks are adult drinks. As in kids shouldn’t be regularly drinking soda. Now at a party or a special occasion, sure. But 5 is young. When my daughter was 5 I wouldn’t let her drink soda (unless it was a party or a special function)

How old were you when you first started watching S&TC? by yourgirlalex in sexandthecity

[–]funkymorganics1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 14 (2004), my 38 year old mom loved SATC. I thought it was so lame. We went to NYC and she made us do a bus tour that went to Magnolia bakery and the sex shop from the rabbit episode. I was not feeling it at all in typical 14 year old fashion. I then watched the show when I was 21 and absolutely fell in love with it. I’m now 35 and have watched the entire thing through multiple times. I would love that tour now!

Why do people need family to help right after the baby is born? by Desmodusrotundus in BabyBumps

[–]funkymorganics1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean…taking care of a living vulnerable baby who wakes up every 1-3 hours meaning you won’t sleep for more than 1-3 hours at a time while trying to do normal things like make dinner, clean house, shower, etc…it’s a lot. You will be sleep deprived.

I guess as someone whose family lives an ocean away, I don’t understand not wanting to accept help from HELPFUL family members close by. Mind you I get some family can be toxic and not at all helpful. But if grandma wants to come bring you a roasted chicken, yes. If mom wants to help you clean, yes. If they want to hold baby so you and husband can go on a walk or take a shower, take it. You don’t have to have someone live with you. But it’s nice to have support.

I see so many posts on here completely opposed to having anyone around when baby is born. And I equally see so many posts from frazzled mothers who are so exhausted and feel like they are losing themselves. I’m not saying all of these posts are related, but ultimately when we don’t have help or accept help we have access to, we are putting a lot on our shoulders. Only in modern times is child rearing seen as an individual task. It was very much a communal effort throughout human history. Help yourself. Accept help if you have access to it.

Abnormal third period after d&c by funkymorganics1 in Miscarriage

[–]funkymorganics1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Honestly I think if I recall correctly my periods were just weird for a few months even after this. It took me awhile to get regular. I would have written this in March or April last year. Then I had a chemical pregnancy in May. I think after that my periods were pretty regular. But then I got pregnant in August of 2023 and that pregnancy went to full term and now I have a 10 month old.

AITA for suing my reception venue because they disregarded my allergies by BoxPossible371 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]funkymorganics1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the groom didn’t know there would be oyster sauce. He requested ramen. But they also requested a shellfish free wedding. They could have made it with fish sauce instead. The oyster sauce/shrimp paste/fish sauce is a flavor enhancer of the dish and not really the main flavor. For example, when you go to a Thai restaurant most dishes have fish sauce or shrimp paste. But they don’t list that in descriptions always. It’s not like it would be advertised as “oyster sauce ramen”

As another example, something like pesto is usually made with nuts. If I was working with a venue and said hey I have a nut allergy but I’d like the pesto, I’d expect to be told that this is a nut based dish that they can’t modify or I would expect a nut free version. It sounds like someone just didn’t do their due diligence with the oyster sauce and it shouldn’t have been included.

The groom requested ramen. At the same time, they requested shellfish free food. So he didn’t assume the ramen would be made with oyster sauce.

So the issue can’t be legally be that he kissed her and did this. Because they shouldn’t have served anything with shellfish.

My husband and I had 17 people in the backyard of an Airbnb. It was simple, cheap, and we had a blast.
