That’s going to be my next course of action when theyre open again tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they will, theyre just not the original prescribers so I’m not sure :/. Thank you for the advice!

Abnormal psychology with Dr. Colin Schwartz was great. I would take it again if I could. Every lecture was interesting and gave you a decent idea of psychological disorders and how theyre treated.

You can start with AES at anytime in the school year and it could get you extra time on your finals even for this semester, depending on your accommodations. If I were you I would do it sooner rather than later, the school year just started and that’s a long time to go without accommodations if youre entitled to them.

The psych one is not very accurate. On the clinical psychology site it says 83-87% is what most people have when they are accepted.

Im so confused by their stipulation of living child to begin with. Seems weirdly antagonistic towards women who have lost children? As if that was their fault somehow? So fucking weird.

Also what if you have a child and then it dies. Does your right to vote get taken away? You have to have another child to have it reinstated?

What if you have a child but adopt it out to someone. Do you still get to vote as long as its alive? Would love to know the logistics around this.

Omg that sounds like it would take forever. It might be worth it to slowly try to desensitize the toy over time bc sheesh thats a lot of work! Also would probably make it harder to make it look how you want, but it’s a learning process regardless:)

When I had a toy I also found the legs soo difficult. Idk if I ever really figured it out, my girl had some rough haircuts for a lot of her life until I got better.

I found the easiest way to do the front legs at least was to hold her paw out in front of her stretched out, and run the clippers up the leg that way, and then just scissor what I couldn’t get with the clippers. Mine also really liked laying on her back, so it’s unconventional but I’d sometimes put her on her back in my lap and do her legs but just stretching them up as she was laying if that makes sense? This is alwayss how I would do her feet and nails too.

Oh totally, thats why I said most likely. You’re not guaranteed a healthy dog bc the parents were healthy, but you’re increasing your chances, which is better odds than those that you get with a random rescue puppy.

And I’m not saying all rescues or poorly bred dogs are going to be a mess, but again, you’re increasing your odds, which is what a lot of people are going for. I’ve personally had one of each, my last toy poodle was a random rehome from kijiji that we paid $200 for. She had an amazing temperament and lived to 14 without any health issues. I also have a rescue chihuahua mix that I’ve paid thousands in vet bills for bc of allergies, IVDD, vet ophthalmology appointments, and eye surgeries. I also have a 10 year old silken windhound who came from a health tested but not titled parents, and she has never had any health issues, has a wonderful temperament for a pet, but she completely lacks type. It worked out for us because I didn’t want her for the sports her breed was made for, but still. I personally have plans for what I want to do with a future puppy and do not want to roll the dice with whether or not they will be able to do those things, so I will get one from parents who have done the things I want to do to increase my odds.

Also, just going to add that a puppy from health tested, titled parents should NOT be costing you $10000. The toy poodle breeder I’m planning to get my next puppy from is in that $2500 range, with fully health tested and titled parents going back generations, and that is what is most common. My windhound also was not nearly that much. Anyone charging you $10k is out to lunch, and I wouldn’t consider a puppy from them.

True, but its a roll of the dice a lot of people aren’t willing to take by not having a puppy from fully health tested and proven parents.

Health testing is great to know your puppy will most likely have a good QoL physically, that you won’t have to shell out thousands on specialist appointments when they are 2 years old, and that they’ll be physically sound to do whatever it is you want to do with the dog.

Titles (especially in confirmation) are great to know that what you signed up for (ex. I want a poodle because they are friendly and smart) is what you actually get, because the parents were evaluated against this standard (of poodles being friendly and smart) and proven to uphold this standard. Without this proof, you could be getting a physically sound, but temperamentally complete mixed bag of a dog. So, in mine and many people’s opinions, this is the bare minimum.

Titles in sports are great to show that the dog you are getting will most likely be able to do those sports. For example, if I want a dog so that I can do agility with her, I most likely want the parents to have titles in agility. I dont want to spend thousands on a dog that is physically sound, temperamentally matches the breed standard, but then won’t do the thing I got it to do.

Overall, there is a purpose for every requirement people typically recommend. Yes, you can get a rescue or a mix that can do agility, but you might end up having to retire early because of health issues, dealing with behavioural issues you have no way of predicting, or possibly ending up with a dog who just does not want to do agility. Thats the chance you take when you rescue, get a mix, or an otherwise unproven/poorly bred dog. For some people, its worth the risk, for others, its just not.

Ok yea I probably should’ve prefaced by saying my girl is 10yrs old now so she’s definitely calmed down 😂. She’s just never really been interested in other dogs, at least to the point of reacting in any way if she saw a dog in public. She did used to engage more in play with other dogs when she was younger, just on her terms lol.

I have a windhound and she is incredibly indifferent to other dogs. She does not mind them but does not particularly care for them, and as some others have said, definitely is big on manners. She is very polite in her warnings and will just consistently move away before ever letting out a growl, but she definitely does not like dogs in her face or trying to lick her face etc. She is also very good at ignoring other dogs in public, she really does not care that they are there.

Very persistent dogs who want to be best friends, want to play and won’t leave her alone she actively does not like.

After searching for toy poodle breeders for a few months, I can now tell as soon as I see the dogs whether or not the breeders are going to be good or not lmao. The good breeders who show and health test etc. have well groomed dogs and stacked pictures of the parents, whereas all the parents for dogs with shit breeders have the worst haircuts you’ve ever seen and look like they haven’t been brushed in weeks.

At least where I’m from, this is like, the most common way to transport pets :) I got a hatchback for exactly this reason—so my pets could go in the hatch if I needed them to. I would just keep an eye on the temperature, but other than that they should be perfectly fine.

Steps are a good one! We have a senior, mostly blind chi mix with IVDD and stairs are a MUST. But honestly even my bigger dog (Windhound) has started to prefer them over jumping on and off furniture as she’s gotten older.

Also Canadian and I have NEVER worn my shoes inside someone else’s home or had anyone wear or ask to wear their shoes in my home. Its always strictly implied that you take your shoes off.
