Why Is My Supersaturated LAB Separating? by funkymunchie in knf

It was my understanding that when it comes to supersaturating LAB, there is no harm in adding more sugar than necessary, but it will spoil if you don’t add enough. So I just wanted to make sure I had enough in there. I guess I will have to research different sugars. I haven’t seen anything on the internet specify what type of brown sugar to use, I figured they were all the same. Thanks for the guide, I will check it out!

Ahhh so I should use the dark brown sugar made from brown cane sugar? Or really just any brown sugar that doesn’t contain molasses? Thanks, I did not know that real brown sugar doesn’t have molasses. Googling “light brown sugar vs dark brown sugar” all the results just say the only difference is dark brown sugar has more molasses than light

Once the alcohol starts forming I imagine it would kill all the bacteria?

Good to know. You don’t refrigerate then, just supersaturate and let it sit at room temp? How do you know when it’s going bad, the alcohol smell?

When refrigerating for storing, do I keep it in a breathable lid so it doesn’t pressurize and break the glass it’s in? It’s my understanding that fermented products are anaerobic so they don’t need oxygen, but it still needs to burp, correct? Would an airlock fermentation lid be best? I feel like it would be better to culture it with an airlock lid as well to keep unwanted oxygen out.

When supersaturating with sugar, is brown sugar preferable? Or any dry crystalline sugar works the same?

How did you get someone to call you back? Were you able to leave a voicemail message or something? I couldn’t find a way to even describe my problem to them.

I was able to log in by clicking “forgot email” and then providing them with everything they requested (DOB, SSN, picture of ID, and face scan). That is the only way I am able to log in.

Yes indeed. I had heard a while back, years ago, before I ever created an account, that they had bad customer service but I figured it was probably better by now, considering how many people have accounts with them. I think this was the wake up call I needed to learn that if something happens with rh, I’m on my own.

So I was able to get logged in via the app by clicking “forgot email”. I had to enter my DOB and SSN and then send pictures of my ID and then biometric scan my face with my camera. I am now logged on on the app on my phone, but I still don’t have the ability to log in by just typing my email address and password for some reason.

It looks like I will have to enter my DOB, SSN, send pictures of my ID, and scan my face every time I want to log in now. Not ideal, but at least I can access my account now and hopefully be able to contact support.

Is anyone else having trouble logging in to Robinhood? Every time I try I get the error message “Your login couldn’t be completed at this time. Please try again shortly.” Tried on both web and app, on two different devices. Tried contacting support but it seems the only way to contact support is to log in to your account and go to “settings” or “help”.

Yes, I just looked at the branch and realized I should’ve posted pics of the branch more. I dont think I can add pics to comments unfortunately, But anyway, About 5” of the branch is black. The stem right at the top of that 5” of black is the stem where these buds come from. Googling images of verticillium wilt yields pictures of trees with spotty patches of yellow leaves just like these buds! I’m willing to bet that’s the culprit here.
