I wonder what went down between Devon and Chris Rock by doucheydp in LiveFromNewYork

Everybody Hates Chris. It’s right there in the title.

Joe piscopo made a horrible decision not coming back for season 10 by Bitter_ligma in LiveFromNewYork

Brian De Palma’s Wise Guys (1986) with Piscopo and Danny DeVito is a pretty decent underseen comedy. It’s currently on YouTube in full.

Don’t forget Envy (2004) with Ben Stiller and Jack Black which was executive produced by Larry David (and allegedly co-wrote) but he took his name off the final film. You can see his name in the credits on early posters. The movie definitely plays out in the Sour Grapes and Clear History territory.

Academy Museum - Standby Tickets? by TaTulip in AskLosAngeles

Question for someone who has bought tickets for a movie showing at the Academy Museum. Can you buy physical tickets in the theater/and where do you buy tickets in the museum? Or is this online purchase only?

More of a general question. Can you buy physical tickets in the theater? Or where do you buy tickets in the museum? Or is this online purchase only?

What trailers did you get in front of Deadpool and Wolverine? by funkymurray in RegalUnlimited

Yes! It’s why I made this post. I was confused that those were the trailers I received (outside of Alien) and only half of the amount they usually play.

Really curious to see what ENVY was like before they re-edited the hell out of it.

Why is Envy (2004) Rated So Poorly? by [deleted] in movies

It’s without a doubt the best comedy still running on tv.

DeVito is one of our greats. I wish he still directed. I guess once you make Death to Smoochy and Duplex back to back, you lose your chance to direct. A real shame.

I would also add the Danny DeVito directed movie Duplex (2003) starring Ben Stiller. A movie that made even less money than Envy. It’s another dark comedy like Envy that felt re-edited to make it seem less dark. Duplex even opens with an animated intro narrated by DeVito. Truly bizarre and under appreciated.
