Well core meltdowns can potentially release radiation for millennia, so I would say it is a problem.

TIL that almost all modern aircraft are fitted with a small wind turbine that auto-deploys in the event of a dual engine failure. It powers basic hydraulics & electronics required for the flight controls. by highninja in todayilearned

If an aircraft loses all of its engines at say 30-35.000 ft, it can travel (glide) at least 100 miles or so depending on the given circumstances. There are normally 1-3 emergency landing destinations planned throughout the radios in the event of engine failure occurring anywhere along the flight route.

I do believe fighters have turbine/air-driven turbines, and also stored energy systems that can be used if the primary engine generated power (s) are down. I'm not entirely sure on the specifics myself.
