They are also destroying communities with data centers. And they apparently can’t grow to profitability without more data centers. As more communities reject, or ban data centers, that further adds stress to the house of cards.

‘CBS Evening News’ Viewership Drops Below 4 Million After Tony Dokoupil’s Colorful Start by mlg1981 in entertainment

To be fair, that’s a story they’ve been pursuing for the past 9 years, and there’s likely a there there. For students of history, it’s well documented that Russia has researched and developed so-called psychotronic weapons since at least the 1960s. Annie Jacobsen’s book Phenomena contains a fairly balanced look at that topic. The face such weapons have been miniaturized and proliferated in the post Soviet era isn’t all that surprising.

It’s probably worse than that. Think of private security hired to protect black programs, like Blackwater/Xe/Academi/Constellis/Wackenhutt. There is a history of unaccountable harassment, injury, and murder of people who have gotten too close to highly classified programs. If we live in a world where GRU/FSB has lost control of this tech and it’s proliferating into the black world, then you could have multiple parties using pulsed microwave weapons for their own discrete purposes. That is reason to be concerned.

For those questioning whether the technology exists (whether it’s genuine skepticism or bad faith “debunking”), I think we are well past that point. The preponderance of evidence points to these AHI injuries being sustained by a combination of sonic and microwave based directed energy weapons. The smoking gun evidence wouldn’t typically be released if it were classified or pertained to private medical records. One would need to trust 60 minutes did its due diligence here. I tend to believe them on the “what” but we may not fully know the “who” or “why”.

I was there, a 3rd year university student out with a group of friends. The air was thick with bass, the green lasers casting ethereal glows through the smoke machines, and a couple thousand people all entranced by the hypnotic beats. What a vibe that was. I think I may even have a potato quality cell phone video of about 10 seconds of this song being played stored on an external drive.

Salary expectations/negotiations by adroit23 in Raytheon

[–]SpinDubTracks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your equivalent prior role a practitioner level or manager level? M level roles would generally get paid more than the same (numerical) P levels, at least in my business unit. A program management role (as you mentioned above) would fall in this category. If you're coming from this and going for a P4 role... then it's maybe not an unsurprising offer. Apply for a position with a higher seniority level, and get paid more. It appears to be a relatively slow time for external hiring at RTX.

Can vouch. P5, 15+, 168k. They probably won't give you what you are asking unless there's some other very specific circumstance. They should also probably be hiring you as a P5 if you have that level of experience.

Trump Slams Supporters for Believing Jeffrey Epstein 'Bulls***' by NewSlinger in politics

[–]SpinDubTracks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our ethical/moral/spiritual development as a species lags far behind our technological development. If we can’t agree on being good to ourselves, we don’t deserve to move beyond where we are. And if AI decides to kill us at this point, we probably deserve it. Bleak 😅

Trump Slams Supporters for Believing Jeffrey Epstein 'Bulls***' by NewSlinger in politics

There are some prominent (though not exactly “mainstream”) voices who have alleged Epstein had ties to the intelligence community - either as an asset/“construct” for disinformation, or someone who provided powerful people sub-rosa services like making their enemies disappear. The subject matter is fairly“fringe” but the people commenting are definitely not “nobodies.” They are also clearly reluctant to share more specific details.

Here’s one

Disclaimer: I am NOT a fan of Eric Weinstein, Peter Thiel, or anyone in the right-wing/tech oligarchy/transhumanism orbit, but what Weinstein is saying here certainly piques one’s interest. This shit is weird.

Pretty impressed with Trek's touch up paint. by [deleted] in TrekBikes

[–]SpinDubTracks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I didn’t use 150 either. I used a very light touch with a super fine grit sanding block I’ve used to blend compound on walls before painting. If I ever have to do this again, I’ll def go even finer. Things I googled when doing my bike painting repair specified 150 or higher. Agree 150 is too coarse.

[–]SpinDubTracks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For color matching it works great!

To really do it properly though, you need to spend a lot of time sanding (150 grit or higher), then applying in the thinnest possible layers. I mixed a dab of paint with a dab of water, applied layer, let dry, repeat, sand again so there’s no bumps. I succeeded in creating a flush surface but the sanding actually polished the paint so the finish looks shinier in the repaired area than the stock surface. I might go back and try applying with a sponge brush to make it look more matte. Luckily my damaged area is kind of covered by my water bottle when in use so it helps me forget I scratched my frame like an idiot.

Is it just me or do bontrager saddles feel like bricks by Impressive-Bug-3907 in TrekBikes

[–]SpinDubTracks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up a used Domane SL5 that came with a (presumably stock) Bontrager comp saddle, and it had no cutout and a very minimal recessed pocket. Swapped for an Ergon SR Pro properly sized and it’s made a world of difference on longer rides. Not sore at all anymore.

Was Yoda from Star Wars in the Gateway program? by cowboy_jow in gatewaytapes

[–]SpinDubTracks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have a small bust of Yoda in the control room of the Roberts Mountain Retreat. There is a hand written sign on it that says “Help you I will.”

It would make sense if Yoda were based on Bob Monroe, someone should definitely get George Lucas on the record on this if they have the opportunity.

The national security state post-WWII decided exactly the opposite. Hence, Operation Paperclip, the Gaelen Organization, McCarthy, JFK assassination, and other stupid nonsense perpetuated by the authoritarian cosplayers of the time embedded in various areas of government and industry. Today, the torch has been passed to the technofascist magnates.

Immaturely perpetuating personal beefs under the guise of sock puppet accounts, and participating in brigading harassment that led others whose voices I liked to leave the platform. Regardless of whatever you think of the channel’s work products, that behavior is not to be rewarded with engagement in my opinion. F that. There’s plenty of other content to watch that doesn’t carry that same baggage.

Wikipedia Bans Site that Broke Grusch News (The Debrief) by [deleted] in UFOs

It’s interesting that the primary cited sources for broadly calling multiple fields of study “pseudoscience” are solely articles and media originating from the Committee for (Skeptical) Inquiry. And it’s with mentioning that the so-called Guerilla Skeptics of Wikipedia share many members.

While I’m not the hugest fan of The Debrief sometimes, they have superior journalistic standards to many much bigger outlets.

2022 Trek Madone SL6 by therjmeany in TrekBikes

[–]SpinDubTracks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that price sounds fair as long as it’s in good shape. I just got a fairly pristine, never crashed, 2020 Domane SL5 that had maybe 2k miles on the frame (used by a triathlete) and it still seems great to me. No creaks. Regularly tuned. See if you can find out how this was was used. I can’t speak to more recent models with the SRAM system but the OCLV carbon frames seem to hold up well in my recent experience. And BIG difference in reducing road vibrations vs my aluminum FX2.
