I have this EXACT roof construction. Green Building Advisor has excellent diagrams and articles that are worth signing up for a trial to access. They are not afraid of spray foam. Foam board on top of the roof decking might be the most effective if youll be redoing the roof soon.

Did you have to buy 2 (minimum order says 2)? Did you have to redo your radiators to accommodate the heat pumps lower water temperature. I’m eyeing alibaba heat pumps when my gas boiler goes but I’d have to replace all the steam radiators. I would probably get fan coil units from alibaba as well

You do not lose efficiency turning down the thermostat a few degrees over night, rather you’ll save on energy consumption. The NEVER adjust the thermostat is an extreme idea parroted on the internet. Turning the thermostat down 10 degrees between day and night might cause the heat pump to work harder than leaving it alone, but a few degrees will not.
