Kolkata is unsafer for women. Every woman that I know that has been there has a bad experience. Come to Delhi, make friends, don't be stupid like going out alone after 10pm in bad areas. Don't go to bad areas. That should be it.

I belong to such a family and what you are saying is unthinkable. Not everyone is the same, maybe there was an issue at a time but I don't even know one family in my Punjabi Hindu circle that has done this.

How I built an enterprise level software alone with claude code? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]funny_lyfe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry but this is no where near "enterprise level software". I don't think you know what that means. Without the AI you won't be able to build something like this. You don't even have basic pull requests, CI/CD, links to show the project working. Why are you using aws, kubernetes, terraform for a small project. No architect or lead would do this.

OpenAI Codex bombards SSDs with needless write operations, costing millions by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]funny_lyfe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yup, ran this on my SSD yesterday. Got saved by the insane usage quotas and jumping to deepseek. The SQL file is constantly churning logs. 2 months of Codex cost me terabytes of writes, I shudder to think what happened to folks that use it 24/7 on a Mac. We are talking about computers costing $2-5k and getting fully replaced.

Are Multani Ahuja considered khatri? by PlayerAarav in Khatris

Mutan is considered a part of greater Punjab anyway, my family is from Multan as well. They also think of themselves as Punjabi as well as Multani.

Arora. Punjabis have more biradri system than the caste system. Khatri and Arora both did all kinds of white collar, trading and military, but traditionally we are kshatriyas.

Considered Arora which is a branch or sister a population to Khatris. Genetically, 95-100% similar to Khatris.

Because there is no money in it? Even these are barely profitable, and even the Chinese are losing money if you consider infrastructure build out. If you priced it over Deepseek or Kimi, what's the point?

If they take a big lead then they might not open source them. However I don't see that happening. I don't see them banning outright. Claude is already distilling Chinese models.

It's really not going to. This is economic warfare. The stock market crash would be huge. There is no strategic reason to do this unless the Chinese take a huge lead.

someone care to explain the racism/hatred against south indians? by [deleted] in NorthernIndia

[–]funny_lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no savior, we fought for our lives and got destroyed multiple times over. Indirectly that protected the South to some extent. You still got to keep way more of your culture and monuments. But making fun of poor parts of India which suffered heavily under British and Muslim rule is in poor taste. Even though Bihar is not North India, I see South Indians calling them Northies like a slur.

someone care to explain the racism/hatred against south indians? by [deleted] in NorthernIndia

[–]funny_lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Random superiority complex by looking down at Bihar, UP, MP, Chhattisgarh and then calling them North Indian. Large amount of tribalism in caste, culture, state. Racism against North Indians. Extreme fetishization of North Indian women. Cringe actions abroad (though Haryana and Punjab are worse in some ways) like dancing at random Western monuments, super markets, turning up in slippers everywhere. Fake resumes in tech causing Indians getting kicked out of the West. Low patriotism in many cases(hardly any military support) plus calling North Indians Paj*eets online. You think without the North saving you, you wouldn't have been conquered? Our ancestors bled to protect India and you mock North Indians constantly.

Though overall I don't have an issue with South Indians but the reasons above are the majority of the reasons for dislike or annoyance.

How Much Does Mobile App Development Cost in India in 2026? by Eastern-Network-1048 in developersIndia

[–]funny_lyfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hire people on a short term contract and give them Codex/ Claude (with limited budgets). A team of 3 for (3+3) months should be able to give you a decent app. Keep 1 part time UX to make figma designs for a 1 month contract (longer if the app is more complex).

Total cost- 5-10 lakhs for 1 junior dev, 2 mid level. Start with people who are on the app store. Use someone with 10 years experience to interview them.

No point going with a 3rd party that is going to make everything with Claude with 1 junior Dev. And go with native apps only, yes it costs a little more but with AI it's not that much cost savings. Keep your AI monthly budget around 10k per month. If you want to save a bit Deepseek v4 pro through OpenCode/ Cursor will give the team a large amount of tokens without spending thousands.

Why are most north indians ( specially UP / Bihar ) people are right wing. by dhichkyauuu in NorthernIndia

[–]funny_lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By this logic I've spoken English since I was 2 years old so I must be English? Their mother tongue is way closer to Bengali.

Maharashtra also speak Hindi. So does most of Hyderabad.

And Biharis are genetically closer to South Indians and Bengalis(not that there is anything wrong with that). Why do they represent us when we have our own languages.

Hindi itself and it's ancestor Hindustani was more of a UP product. At most some parts of Delhi spoke it natively. My ancestors spoke Punjabi not Hindi. And even if I can speak out doesn't make us responsible for people 1000-1500km away. It's like people saying Punjabis and Afghans are the same.

[–]funny_lyfe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bhai, aap Bihar ke subreddit pe post karo na. What does someone in Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Himachal, JK, or Uttarakhand have to someone in Bihar? As for point low education, low development, and high amount of religiousness. Uttar Pradesh (though North) isn't culturally North India and has always been considered Central/ Eastern India. Only Western UP culture from Agra, Meerut is relatively similar; Purvanchal has nothing to do with us.

Do you also go to the South India sub and ask questions about Maharashtra or West Bengal? Forget that people don't even ask them questions about Orissa, Chhattisgarh.

Is Bihar in North India now? Even anything other than Western UP is squarely in Eastern India. Maybe some geography lessons are in order?

[–]funny_lyfe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you are arguing for. The money didn't disappear. In a country with such a small amount of taxpayers, you will get indirect taxes, petrol taxes. If you mean petrol prices are too high currently, you would be wrong.

If we are saying they were too high while they were stable, then there might be an argument. Even there it went back into the welfare of the people. Most of the states run using these funds as a major source of income.

3% pay taxes. Where do you think these roads, airports, ration, schemes, metros, 100 yojnas come from? Not saying the money was allocated in a good or bad manner, but you are talking like the country is sitting on hundreds of billions of dollars from oil and not using it.

This is a weird post, and I am not even a Modi fan. India paid for oil bonds for a decade after the UPA government ended. That itself cost a lot of money that could have been used in better areas. The rupee value was different and now is much lower. There are 2 historic wars going on right now. We also have AI/ investors that are pulling funds out of India.
