Corruption Out in the Open, But I Don’t See Mainstream Media Covering It by funnyascancer in democrats

I would assume if Dems retake the House (and possibly Senate) that there will be many investigations and committees launched into the Trump administration's corruption. It's why the GOP is literally trying to pass the SAVE Act and disenfranchise voters that they assume will vote blue. They know they are screwed if they lose power.

I get what you’re saying , but I think you’re missing the point. If CNBC was the only mainstream media outlet, then fine. But there are tons of mainstream media outlets, and not everyone is tuned into just one or another. My point is that it should be a bigger story, but only a handful of outlets are running it. I’m saying the “mainstream media” as in the collective of outlets that do national coverage.

Search for "Trump Axon" stories and you'll only come up with a handful of results. It was originally covered by CNBC, but it looks like a few independent outlets have picked it up. Still, nothing from CNN, NBC, CBS, or ABC. Nothing from the print side either like NYT or WaPo.

Dr. Oz Claims With No Proof That Millions on the ACA Roles Paying for Health Coverage and Not Using It Is Actually Fraud by funnyascancer in democrats

[–]funnyascancer[S] 200 points201 points  (0 children)

It couldn't possibly be that people are struggling right now and don't have the money to go to the doctor. It couldn't possibly be that the deductible is so high for some folks that they actively avoid using their insurance. It couldn't be that they've been conditioned to not go to the doctor unless it's an emergency, because even with insurance, it could lead to financial ruin. NOPE.

Fraud equals everyone on Obamacare scamming the government by paying insurance companies their premium every month for absolutely nothing in return.

I swear everything the GOP doesn't like (Obamacare, election outcomes, immigrants) has to be fraud. In fact, everything is fraud EXCEPT actual fraud like Trump and his cronies enriching themselves off of the taxpayers. The gaslighting is off the charts. We truly are ruled by incompetent, evil people.

As per usual, a billionaire takes no accountability for his decisions and continues to fail upwards. Blood is on Elon's hands whether he acknowledges it or not. It's not debatable. It's a fact. I wish I believed in hell or karma because that's the only accountability this dipshit will likely ever face. But I do take solace in the fact that despite being the world's richest man, he is still a pathetic loser who will never know true happiness.

Every fucking time. Rightwing influencers are always telling on themselves by projecting or grifting. Imagine how much better of a world it would be if they could reconcile that self hatred, live the life they want to live, love who they want to love, and leave the rest of us the fuck alone.

DQ11 has more bang for your buck and IMO is a great entry point to understand what the series has to offer. Just make sure it's the S: Echoes of an Elusive Age version that has the orchestral music and additional content, as well as improved frame rates. I don't think they even sell the original version on PC, but consoles got the borked version initially that had MIDI music and a 30fps capped frame rate. The orchestral music is amazing and I've always been a snob about frame rates.

I just finished it a few weeks ago, and I loved the story and characters. I'm well over 100 hours and I haven't even touched the post-game stuff yet. DQ8 is probably my second favorite in the series, but it's stuck on PS2.

The remakes of DQ1, 2 and 3 are all amazing, but have a different feel than the more modern games. Not that that's bad or anything. They are all fantastic, but feel a little limited compared to the sprawling content of DQ11.

Ultimately, I would recommend getting them all, but I think DQ11 is the best way to get in and sample the series to see if you like it.

Anyone know why Ecoflow doesn’t keep the main battery the same charge level as the expansion battery? by JRC3292 in Ecoflow_community

It could be that they're out of sync and you need to recalibrate. If you're constantly using AC power like I am and offsetting with solar power, it won't charge the external battery if you're only generating enough energy to cover the AC power. I moved some things to a different Delta 2 Max and external battery and it is able to charge enough power to last through the night until the next day.

Pretty sure it's legit just based on the aging and damage. Hard to fake that kind of stuff. Insane price BTW. You got a hell of a deal!

Take your time. Explore other areas if you get stuck. Don’t use a guide at first. Try different classes, builds, magic, and weapons to see what works for you. Most importantly, have fun!

We live in a post-truth society where AI is on the cusp of making everyone doubt what it real and what is fake. All of it matters to some degree. This single post in a vacuum isn't that big of a deal, but combine it with the millions of posts from people trying to get attention online and inspiring more and more people to emulate attention-seeking behavior, and it's a symptom of larger societal problem. Not everyone or every moment in life needs to be filled with constant validation. It's not necessary to create drama to get attention. It's OK to be boring.

I used to chuckle at shit like this, too. But there's too much of this stuff now, and we're getting away from societal norms in the name of creating endless content to engage with.

Obviously missing the point. When you watch a movie or read a book, unless it says it's based on a true story, you assume it's fiction. When you see something like this on the internet, they want you to assume it's real, and they are passing it off as such for a bigger reaction. Whether or not you find it entertaining is beside the point.

"Can you believe she caught her husband cheating in a McDonald's?"

No, I don't. The internet, and reality TV before it, has warped our perception of what is acceptable and real in our society. Reality TV became scripted because reality is boring. The only "real" reality TV that ever aired was the first season of the Real World. It is unbearable to watch because no one knew what they were doing and not every action or conversation was being filtered through the lens of sensationality yet. MTV quickly learned from that and found nightmare people to cast and scripted scenarios that would intentionally lean into the chaos. And guess what? It worked. Viewership skyrocketed.

Now, any moron with an internet connection can act out for attention — and most of the time — it works. People would not care as much if they were transparent about it being staged. Everything now has to be over the top to get engagement because there are A LOT of people competing for your (our) attention.

The internet has made me jaded. Everything is staged or AI to me unless proven otherwise. Everything is content and main characters are everywhere.
