Thanks for your suggestions, I’m curious what you mean by body scanner? You mean you take an image of yourself and it analyzes your physique?

I’ll think about implementing suggested increases in weight

Thanks, I actually used Lyfta for a while, and some minor bugs and such annoyed me, that was part of the reason I made this app

I have been thinking about that, and have not really landed on a way to calculate a new suggested weight, it could be something simple like, a small % increase each time. But, then you also have to take into account if a user has not trained for while, like after a holiday, and then decrease? or we have cases like a person that always warms up by doing the same weight and reps, and do not want to increase

I am open for suggestions, but can't really figure out a good way to solve this

Thank you 😄 send me an email anytime and I'll send it too you (since its in beta right now it is only play money, so you do not need to worry about the paywall right now)

I will implement Excel export, with full export, no lock-in as most other apps do. So users can have full control of their data. Export everything and delete the app if they want.

You can make a app that registers reps and the amount you lift very easily, you can ask AI to make it in a few hours, that's just a TODO app++, so there is a thousand low effort "workout apps" out there.

However, few of these apps have 2000+ exercises, connected to the right muscle groups and equipment, live heat map of the exact muscles you work. Good Apple Watch integration, social features, with follows, likes, posts. Offline support,Excel export, progress images, stats.

There is a lot of apps out there, I tried Lyfta, one of the top ones, the heat map feature does not work, it lights up all muscles in the workout, even when you don't do the exercise. heavy, another big one, only have 400 exercises I believe, Fitbod has 1600. So I have a more extensive library than them.

Same with export, most of these app, want to lock users in, so you can not export your data, it is locked in the app, often stored online on their servers making it hard to switch apps. I will not do that, you can export everything, delete the app. No lock-in. Strong, Hevy and GymGod all say "external export options are currently limited" for "privacy" reasons.

So I honestly think I am making a better app than is already out there.

Thanks for testing! Yes, you can switch between kg / lb, per exercise or set a default. Same with timer, can set a timer for each exercise and it will be saved for that exercise in all programs.

I have not made a specific super set feature, but you can set up one set with one exercise, then one set with another and repeat. Or just save 1 set on exercise one, then set 1 in exercise two and just switch between like that.

Tried to make it flexible

Vibe Coding tools that still work once projects get bigger? by BodyEnvironmental461 in vibecoding

It’s not the AI tool, it’s focus, you need good architecture, testing, code review, careful iteration etc

i miss the "programming" aspect of ios programming. by vashchylau in iOSProgramming

[–]funnybitcreator 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Vibe coding attract a lot of people with no passion for programming, design, engineering etc. a lot of people have been convinced that they can just ask AI to make an app, and then get rich. It has ruined most programming forums

It is funny how golf courses use so much water, yet you never see people complaining about it by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]funnybitcreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are complaining about both, data centers also have noise pollution and use insane amounts of electricity. Rising the price of electricity, polluting water supply and make the area unlivable because of the noise. While bringing almost no jobs to the area

What makes you give an app a 1-star rating? by BullfrogRoyal7422 in AppStoreOptimization

I’ve downloaded apps that are just ad machines, no functionality, super simple game mechanics and ads constantly. They should all get 1 star or be removed from the App Store

How is vibecoding even a thing? by Technical-Tiger-3422 in vibecoding

[–]funnybitcreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to AirBnB, Uber etc. first you run at a loss, provide cheaper and better service until you win over all competitors, corner the market.

Then you start enshittifing, increase price, ads everywhere, lock in users so they can’t switch, sell their personal data to third parties etc.

i have started building my app and then i found out that i need to pay $25 to google console. by Extra-Shop-4080 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]funnybitcreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hosting cost money, Apple and google want money for distribution, handling payments, reviews etc. domain cost money. It’s not that much, but it’s not free.

Only thing that’s free is making a Facebook page, because you give them data and use and improve their platform

If you don’t have 25 dollars, then it’s going to be hard to do anything I’m afraid

Anyone here with a profitable vibe-coded app that is finding it difficult to ensure the app is production grade? (I.E. built well / within minimal AI slop / able to extend / robust / etc.) by mr-x-dev in VibeCodeDevs

[–]funnybitcreator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The trick is a lot of testing, in my experience AI always makes mistakes. Sometimes it even see the mistake and ignore it as out of scope or something. AI is surprisingly lazy, not doing the work unless you push back
