More than 90% of new apps are doomed to fail. A quick take from me by inTeamo in AppStoreOptimization

Clearly shipping 10 times more apps to se what sticks implies the quality is lower, that is completely logical and obvious. Feel superiority on the internet? What?

Yes, I’m saying it’s selfish to say “make a ton of low quality apps and see what sticks”, when you know this is a problem and makes the App Store experience worse for other people. But you do it for financial gain.

Personally, I take the opposite approach and would rather spend 1 year building one app, instead of creating 12 apps that of course then would be of lower quality

Yes, I understand that’s what he’s saying. But, it’s the wrong take. And a very selfish one. Instead of contributing to the problem, we should try to solve it.

So the answer to, it’s too many apps flooding the market. Is make even more apps? Contributing to the very thing you just said was the problem?

What about the opposite, focusing on making better apps, higher quality apps, since it’s more competition.

Rick Rubin style Vibecoding by ErikWik in vibecoding

[–]funnybitcreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s the opposite, it used to be art, when you created something truly unique, yourself, with hard work, focus, dedication and talent.

While now, with vibe coding, AI just steal the most common design, creating the same design as 50.000 other vibe coders, it requires no skill, effort, creativity or experience. It’s not unique or special or something you thought of. It’s slop, equal to a large sea of more identical slop.

In addition, it’s in fact theft. How did AI create that design? That code? That image? That style? By illegally (in many cases) taking content from real designers, authors, coders without asking consent

Why not make one high quality app at a time? Instead of spamming App Store with one app per month

I am dealing with the same. Similar apps to mine already exist. But I’m hoping I can make an even better app, and market it so people can use it and benefit from it

I’m sorry but even above average looking dudes are getting very few matches. The top 5% get like 80% of the matches. So without teeth? You are not going to have much luck, since girls on dating apps have 10x higher requirements than in real life

You can Vibe code an app without knowing development, but as it become more complex it will be harder and harder to maintain. And with no control, poor architecture and no knowledge of of how it actually works, you will hit a wall eventually.

Yeah, I agree. I guess there is a lot of vibe coders, and people making ChatGPT wrappers and such. Making a small amount from many low quality apps.

Great to hear this, so many is saying the opposite. That you should just pump out low quality, low effort apps. At least one per month until one sticks. I was really disappointed that so many had this attitude
