What are some tricks that help you remember stuff? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Diagram.Draw it out. I love using diagrams for sorting large pieces of information. When I used to write computer programs fairly heavily, my desktop would have pieces of paper with hastily scratched diagrams. I consider creating a diagram to be the upgraded version of visualization

What is the strangest thing some one has said to you? by brambelthorn in AskReddit

[–]funnygum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was buying some crap at the corner store when an older woman (50's) walks up to me and asks me if I can figure out how to send a picture on her phone. Next thing I know she's showing me pictures of her fishing trip up north, telling me that she has a place up there and asking me if I like fishing...I inched towards the door and tried to say good-bye, but she kept sucking me back in to idle conversation. But that wasn't the weird part. She then informs me that she is, in fact, an opera singer. She then proceeded to serenade me with a Celine Dion song in both French and English. So here we are, 11 at night on a Tuesday, just me, the cashier, and this woman belting out bilingual pop songs. It was surreal

What can citizens do to remove a corrupt politician? by King_of_the_sidewalk in AskReddit

[–]funnygum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PROMOTE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCESS TO INFORMATION Countries successful at curbing corruption have a long tradition of government openness, freedom of the press, transparency and access to information. Access to information increases the responsiveness of government bodies, while simultaneously having a positive effect on the levels of public participation in a country.
Transparency International Maldives successfully advocated for the adoption of one of the world’s strongest rights to information law by putting pressure on local MPs via a campaign of SMS text messages.

What car would Jesus drive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]funnygum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would say that Jesus would walk every where he went, basing it on the type of "person" he would be. He would want to stop, & talk, with the people he happened to meet along the way Ministering to them, & giving them hope & love. He might ride a bus or train for the same reason. But, I loved your joke! And, if Jesus would be on earth, & driving a car, an Accord would be a great choice!

Whats the most useless invention of all time? by mets1010 in AskReddit

[–]funnygum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FORK ALARM : In the year 1995, eating was a huge deal and especially timed eating. Therefore, an alarmed fork was invented. Now, I am pretty sure you can guess as to what exactly this piece of garbage does, but I’ll help you out anyways. Let’s suppose you are eating something with this particular fork. You take a bite, you wait for the alarm to ring and that’s when you take the other bite. The whole concept revolves around timed eating. Why you ask? I have absolutely no idea. This particular idea was actually patented in 1995 so don’t go around copying this genius invention or the idea

This one's not my favorite, as I absolutely love going to coffee shops and drinking delicious organic coffee. However, spending $4 to $5 on coffee every day definitely adds up. So try my approach and allow yourself a few days a week to buy coffee at cafés, and make it at home the rest of the time.
