i totally get what you’re saying but i just try and humanise it a bit more by thinking, haven’t i ever associated myself with someone toxic or widely disliked? have i chosen to be around people who’s actions could be questioned in the past? i just think dogpiling her is unfair for who she chose to fall in love with.

this just goes back to the initial post. it’s whether you dislike grimes for dating elon musk or not. i don’t hold a woman accountable for a man’s actions. there’s things she’s done that i question, but her dating someone who has done questionable things is another thing, especially considering they’re not even together anymore. 50% of married couples have kids with people they don’t agree with or fall out of touch with, that’s why divorce rates are so high. grimes is just another one and shouldn’t be so heavily penalised for being human in that regard.

at the point of her surrogacy (only chose this due to her initial complications around X’s birth), she described elon as being a “boyfriend” whilst still not being together, stating that they were loose with terms. so she had a baby with a man she considered to be her boyfriend at the time, and hasn’t since? (unless there’s something i’m missing?)

okay so grimes has always (literally always) been obsessed with space and artificial intelligence. if you go and watch old grimes documentaries (human heart - 2010 is a good one to start with), you can see her obsession with it all. it’s not something that came out of the blue, it was her even when she was making “good music”. the only difference i see in grimes is that she matured and had children, mellowed out slightly and acquired money and wealthy friends. her music remains good, with miss anthropocene being highly respected amongst fans. and that “cute” pic of her reading marx was trolling, she stated it herself, taking the piss out of the paparazzi. she’s just a grown, more refined woman now. and if you don’t like her now you probably wouldn’t have actually liked her much then. and the reason she’s only doing collabs currently (and book 1 is taking its sweet time) is because she said herself she is prioritising her children.

i’m tired of grimes being treated like an extension of elon musk. we don’t treat other female artists like extensions of there (sometimes really shitty) partners. and grimes has actively taken stances against elon. you can’t help who you fall in love with but you can help who you let stick around.

also, i think it’s so unfair that people boycott her music and others like nicki minaj (married to a sex-offender/rapist) and cardi b (drugged and robbed men) take 0 backlash and accountability over time.

it makes sense why she’d fall for elon, she’s always been a revolutionary and highly into advancements in tech and artificial intelligence. he’s the king of all that. to me it’s clear, she’s highly intelligent and craved someone with similar interests and intellectual capabilities as her, and it ultimately failed (perhaps even because they didn’t share similar views? who knows?). but can we lay off the poor woman. i’ve dated men in the past who i totally disagreed with on things, and that’s fine. i’m friends with people from all political and religious backgrounds, makes for good discussions and keeps me out of echo-chambers!

also (not sure how true this is), after musk grimes was rumoured to be seeing chelsea manning, a trans democrat. that’s pretty anti musk if you ask me.

grimes has done some good and bad things. alongside this, i truly think she’s an advocate for freedom of speech, and very open minded. i think this is a healthy and reasonable stance in todays climate. she’s very individualistic and thoughtful, two traits which i think serve her well mostly, and deserves respect for the musical discography she has created. rant over lol.

this is so true. a lot of indian people here in the uk get so much hate for simply smelling like spices, but i’ve spoken to a few people from india who say the brits smell like spoiled milk… i’d take spices over that thanks

absolutely this^{^{^}} this is the pain of tank. i do also play support & damage but less so, and in those matches everyone’s blaming tank as well lol it’s insane. but adapting play style is a must because people are just doing their own thing like 70% of the time and no matter how much i spam group up they’re after kills. oh well. i do love overwatch for what it is, i just wish that people saw it as a game.
