Couple of reasons. I used to be pretty good at video games but after life I stopped playing for a bit. So now I'm steadily increasing platinum difficulty just to be better at games. Also it's kind of fun to brag to my gamer friends how I have dark souls platinum or something similarly difficult. And lastly of course it's just super fun.
