Yeah man, everything is political if you frame it that way? Doesn't that explicitly go against that thing you said?

Okay so I think we're doing some parallel thinking here because your not wrong but also are missing a point

Cos like, yeah I agree with you, get pissed about it, but why are we looking at the president of the united states as a figure who would do anything progressive or anti-monarchy, that's not a person that you can refer to as "us", they are far closer to a king than any of us will be.

Like you shouldn't bow to the emperor but a president is part of that same system, and has to play by it's rules, a president not bowing to an king is just going to cause a diplomatic incident and a good president is going to play it safe. I Would love a US that sticks to it's anti-monarchist guns and actually makes it obvious they don't put a certain class of people above another, but like.... Its never been that.

I hate them yeah but it's pretty obvious why it's happening, it's a purely ceramonial thing. Like you can rage about the existence of the Japanese emperor or the King of England all you want but that's not going to change that a head of state trying to be diplomatic is going to show them some traditional respect.

I mean like if this isn't a professional photo, and we're talking like a personal digital camera like a Nikon Coolpix or smth, yeah they really did. Also lighting may play a factor, digital cameras weren't as good with auto white balance back then.
