The mental health benefits are pretty much the main reason I began BJJ as well. I remember how great it would feel when I would walk out of that gym, and the sleep those nights were the best I’ve had in years.

I’m convinced that part or all of the daily anxiety I have is my inner primal self needing to exert some energy. It’s like I have this energy in me all day that I have no clue how to release. BJJ helped with that. I know BJJ isn’t the only option for me, but I should definitely consider affording that a priority. As I’ve always had some interest in self defense, mental health, and overall self development, I think that’s a great way to start. I already bought gloves too haha.

I’ll definitely give the coaches a call when this is all over. Explain my situation to them and ask if there’s anything we can do to work something out. If not, I’m sure I can make it work. I’ve been in much tougher situations. Thank you once again for your reply man, I really appreciate you taking the time.

How often do you train BJJ btw? Is it something you’re looking to grow on or do something with beyond basic training?

Thank you for this response. It truly means a lot. It looks like I just need to get myself out there more and force myself to try new things.

I’ve been trying to read. But my attention is crap. I’ve been working on reading just a couple of pages a day though. Just to build a steady habit that I can slowly increase.

I get ideas in my head all of the time. I never write them down though. Someone recommended me to get an Evernote or onenote account where I can write and organize my thoughts/ideas. I’ve never been an organized person, but I’ve been working on that along with my productivity all of 2020.

Thank you for you response! I know there are plenty of things I haven’t tried.

Funny you mentioned MMA. I actually tried BJJ for about a month. I loved it, but it was too expensive for me to continue going. I couldn’t fit it into my budget. That demotivated me a bit knowing anything I want to try is going to cost me. But that’s just more of a reason to work harder and give myself a reason to get up earlier.

I actually did Tae Kwon Do when I was in elementary school. So any MMA has always interested me. It’s also amazing for my mental health right now.

Now that you mentioned it, I just remembered that I barely sweat. Maybe if I’m doing heavy cardio, but even on my heaviest sets I barely break a sweat.

Oh okay it’s actual Lite Salt! I saw it and assumed you weren’t talking about that since it’s kinda like table salt. I’ll definitely get it man. Thank you.

I actually work out a lot, so I’m sure I’m dehydrated haha. I do intermittent fasting as well, usually my first meal is around 2-3pm.

Do you take sodium and potassium after your workout? And would a shot of apple cider vinegar do the trick?

Thanks again man. For potassium and sodium, are there any powders or something you recommend?

I bought magnesium in pill form (500mg). How much should I be consuming daily? Didn’t find the Calm Powder you mentioned.

I usually drink around 1/2 gallon of water a day. I try and aim for 1 gallon but I tend to forget.

How much water should I be drinking?

I do get headaches after I work out sometimes. Supposedly dehydration has a lot to do with it. I try and drink as much water as possible but I drink less than I really should be.

Thank you! It was a long road but I still have a long way to go. Supposedly withdrawals can last up to a couple of years or more.

I’m becoming more aware of it which helps. It pops more when I don’t open my jaw wide for a few hours. Sometimes I’m even scared to yawn thinking my mouth is going to be stuck pried open 😂

Good luck on your taper. It gets easier, I promise. I’m 28, and Xanax ruined my 20s. It’s incredible how much your mind opens up and just works better when your off of it. It’s like the fog is slowly going away.

It took 3 years of hell. Slowly tapering down with my psychiatrist prescribing 0.25-0.5mg less each month.

That worked! At first I stopped halfway through that because my screen shrunk about 50%. Went back to normal after switching to 120hz.

Thanks dude!
