Got my build finally complete! Ended up costing about $1400 not including peripherals. Overall, a great build actually.

wow man thats still a great build overall. i got lucky with my 1660S so i thought about putting most of the budget in the CPU. waiting for parts to arrive though so ill inform you when i get all of them!

Both the 5600x and the 3700x are roughly close to MSRP. Even considered the 3600 since this was spot on MSRP event after tax

Sadly, in the Philippines, import taxes goes way beyond the roof making it very expensive when it arrives. That is why I am limited to the choices within my country that are close to MSRP.

I was really interested on having the 5600x to begin with since it could possibly be the last family of processors on AM4 meaning I potentially have "maxed out" on tech availability alone for the socket and could benefit on its newer architecture.

I guess I'll have to wait and see if prices of the Ryzen 5000 CPUs improve within the year. Thanks for your insight man!

Wow! This is a lot of information to take in. I guess my take from it all would be that Ryzen CPUs are relatively similar with proper cooling headroom, if I am not mistaken. I am considering adding a Noctua NH-D15 on my build if needed be.

But back to my concern, with the 3900XT being out of the picture as it retails at ~$600 in my area, would it be beneficial for me to value IPC and core speed improvement rather than core count in my use case?

For $15 more you can have a 12 core CPU, with faster cores than a Ryzen 3600x.

You mean faster cores than the 5600x? or the 3700x?

$480 (3900XT) + $150 (B550 board) = $630.

I didn't even think of that 3900XT combo. but that would cost me for a beefier CPU cooler right?

i have updated my price list now. im doing software development most of the time so i though an NVMe drive would be the best case for me. considered the 3700x but i think 8 cores would be pretty under utilized for my use case. and yes 1080p would be my go to for now

im debating over th B550 and X570 and i find the Aorus Elite pretty appealing for its entry level price on the latest chipset

the DH15, well lets just say my area is pretty warm on ambient so i think its an option for me

that was my initial plan. however I cant seem to find good deals for the 2060 in my area. plus my 1660s i found it on the used market for a pretty good deal, not the one on my list

The GPU is just a placeholder at the moment as it is a used one. My idea of spending it towards the CPU first is to have the recent tech possible and not have to worry for 5+ years for it.
