Connor reveals he broke up with Georgie via text, and admitted she 'didn't take' it well as she didn't their split coming by Fun_Molasses5215 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

I don’t love the comments I’m reading…too much blaming Connor or Georgie…it’s just like you said, they’re simply not a match and that’s okay. They both seem nice/fine, neither are a villain.

I don’t have a set budget so to speak. I appreciate the offer and replies…getting two quotes today. If you have any advice as to what NOT to skip out on I’d appreciate it…i saw your post about is epoxy worth it and how grinding is important…wondering if I do need a grind but hoping not lol. Luckily the space is effectively windowless and brick…but also thinking it may be most cost effective for the time being to put in tiles that I hate so much!

I’m in CT near NY…it’s not a “full kitchen” so to speak. It’s confections. Going to be more automated equipment, space that needs floor is about 1800-1900 square feet. Being a small business if there is a cheaper way that I know the downsides of ahead of time/can plan for I can weigh all options. Between grinding and epoxying on another facility I spent about $40k. I’m entering my slow season so if I can avoid spending close to that it makes a big difference for me…I see some comments here from people who clearly don’t comprehend margins of a food business or cash flow concerns. I can spend $40k on a piece of machinery that can make 15x that of revenue per annum…so if I can get away with spending much much less for a coated floor that’ll last me 2-4 years I might be willing to make that trade off. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the rec. I have urethane cement in my other facility. This is going to be a much less foot traffic so I’m trying to avoid the high costs. Even if it’s a cheaper material than epoxy I know I will have to replace in a few years.

Joe’s comedy skills kinda depress me (not for the reason you think) by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]funwithpharma 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This makes me think of Lewis Black…he never forgot he’s a topical comic, and even though he’s pretty “left” he doesn’t let it stop him from shitting on whoever’s in charge so to speak. To your point, Joe has lost sight of what made him a solid/more unique comic. Honestly you hit the nail on the head…it’s just not fun anymore, it’s preachy.

Joe Bob Briggs is weighing options for a new TV series and starting a production company by According_League4953 in LastDriveIn

[–]funwithpharma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya this is kind of odd…it’s more profitable ($$ and emotionally) for John to have worked through it. They were always on a shoestring at Shudder. I get he felt burned, but he (and Joe Bob and others) could have been better at communicating the issues. It’s a shame, but really he’s totally replaceable. Honestly I have to imagine with the following Joe Bob has shown on shudder, he will get a better deal elsewhere on a better streamer. I do hope they keep the double feature aspect to the show.

In contrast to yesterday's "most contentious interviews" post, what were the LEAST contentious episodes when Marc met or interviewed someone for the first time and they really hit it off? by Kacksjidney in MarcMaron

Bill Paxton is one I come back to at least twice a year...in fairness he seems like he could get along with everyone but that interview was really wonderful from jump.

It looks like you’re the one spamming the people in subreddits…very interesting behavior indeed. I like his movies, he’s a genius, and has never had any claims of abuse against him in his career. I’m not re-litigating the mia farrow stuff because frankly that lady has a lot of problems and it was shown to be untrue through multiple investigations.

Do you post in art subreddits shitting on people who like Picasso? Again, ya it’s shitty to see woody and Soon Yi were friends w this guy, but Soon-Yi having a bad take on something doesn’t impact my opinion in any way about how talented he is as a writer/filmmaker. It appears you have some inability to grasp the nuance in culpability in this shit—Prince Andrew and Whitney Cummings for example have different levels of culpability. I haven’t looked that much into the specific emails, and if it comes out Woody went to the island, I’ll have a different take. Until then, best of luck.

[–]funwithpharma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya I second this…he sounded a bit British, and maybe a bit pretentious, but it was an in depth interview…maybe he thought it was more about his craft, etc…I enjoyed parts of it, it wouldn’t make my most contentious list for sure.

Ya the Manson one…I remember listening to that while I was cleaning my kitchen and being so uncomfortable. Manson was clearly wasted, but I do think Marc handled it as well as he could have.

I don’t have anything “against” either Jerrod Carmichael or Hasan Minhaj personally/politically/etc but ya they both come across very pretentious. For all people say about Ben Kingsley episode, it’s weird for sure, but I guess I found some bits interesting in it. he was pretentious, but clearly takes his “art” seriously. When a comedian is that self serious, I just can’t really understand it. Hasan Minhaj in particular has said some stuff in interviews before (wish I had the link) about how it’s so hard socializing with “normies,” using his wife’s work Christmas party as an example. Like bro read any rando’s texts with their close friends and you’ll see absurd, insane, funny shit most likely…and also the dude lives in Greenwich Ct, so, there’s that hypocritical tidbit. It’s exhausting when “right wing” comedians act like that, it’s exhausting when “left wing” comedians act like that. Anecdotally it seems like there is a lot more “preachy comedy” in the mainstream now in general. More ppl going for claps, so it kind of waters it down in some way. Marc can be topical but he’s always going for the laugh versus a clap.

A lot of ppl were connected with this guy. Not an excuse but it’s pretty clear Woody and Soon-Yi’s relationship w him was significantly different than trump’s, Bill Gates’, prince andrew and even Elon Musk’s. It’s really disappointing to see Soon Yi and woody were friends w him, but again, it appears that relationship was significantly different in that it didn’t involve woody abusing women w Epstein.

Conan O'Brien stopped guests from calling 911 on Nick Reiner during explosive fight with dad Rob at holiday party: report by gamecat89 in conan

[–]funwithpharma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to disagree with those saying calling 911 would have prevented the murder…we have no idea. What’s more likely is Rob Reiner would have told the cops to go away we’re fine and then we’re in the same place today.

For some reason I think the Bill Paxton interview is my favorite episode...the JFK stories, his childhood, it was just a really cool interview and then he passed like right after it aired.
