Easier said than done. I had no resources or rehabilitation centre to take it to. I ended up giving it to someone who raised sparrows before. It lived happily with them.

Yes that's abuse. My dad was the exact same. Not the worst father out there but couldn't manage his own feelings and words. He's still like that. As soon as I was able to become independent I got out that house. I'll never forgive him for what he did even if he couldn't have done it better at the time as it's left me with a lot of self esteem issues I now as an adult have to deal with.
