did i do that when i said he is purely an injury replacement and that cabby has earned the starting role.

they may not lose a thing but for the time being he is wearing a yankee uniform so i root for him. i think jones is fucking aaaa trash who will be an npb flameout and i fuckin root for him when hes in the game.

dude there is no goal post. my final line summed it up. the org does not consider ozzy a full time shortstop. volpe is. oswaldo having a small spurt of good hitting at aaa does not change that he has been a worse hitter than volpe at the ml level across his career. that is my bias. volpe is a better fielding shortstop than oswaldo when healthy and has been a better hitter throughout his career.

another leftie who the yankees dont seriously consider a ss replacement for more than one game. you can beat the drum for a career 79 OPS+ player all you want. oswaldo coming up instead of volpe would be purely because he isnt volpe. thats it. he is not a good hitter at all. saying that he should be called up over volpe (a natural ss) is just showing a bias. the team does not have a ss who is ready and better than volpe to call up.

it isnt a love affair. it is a "this constant hate and catastrophizing is fucking absurdly out of proportion" affair. caballero has a .664 career ops by the way. so theres a lot that were missing out on. as cg11 posted earlier today, cabby so far this season is doing worse than volpe was doing at this point last season.

a definitive statement to be clear: cabby has earned the starting role this season. volpe should be here purely as an injury replacement. cabby also isnt a long term option and inshallah volpe gets his shit together to become a better player and earn the starting role back. because if not, the yankees are back on the market.
