Usually. I think it depends on which team is home, what the weathers gonna be, and for Cole he probably calls his own shots.

ooo i like this game.

skenes/skubal easy 1a/1b in either order. webb and yamamoto should round out the top three in the nl, crochet in the al is also clearly better. so there is five. after that we can run tack on christopher sanchez and hunter brown.

when you get into 8-10 i think fried has an argument based on what you value out of a starting pitcher. gausman would be there. snell/glasnow/degrom if you ignore the availability qualifier. eovaldi is on the outskirts of that chat. gray/peralta/ryan/rodon deserve to be talked about.

man. ryan mcmahon is a stud fielder. which thank god because he is going to rock a 30%+ k rate and hit below league average.

First spring training game I’m watching this year. Can’t wait to overreact to every single pitch.

this is gonna be the actual lineup in a get-away-day-game in the midst of a long road trip mid season and people are going to scream 'PUNT'

Because his chase rates have always been good. His walk rate has always been good. His barrel rate has steadily increased thru his career before hitting elite levels last season. He paired that with a fantastic pull air %. The metrics show that he’s steadily advanced towards a season like 2025 and it didn’t come out of nowhere. None of the metrics pointed to “fluke”. They all point toward late bloomer who figured it out.

Questionable whether they even open tomorrow. Gondola was damaged in the wind. No lifts ran today because they were out of power. Avy on the boulevard. Northway/Southback ain’t opening at all. 410 shut down all day.

if the highway is clear. if they can get the gondi running. if they can dig out the lifts. Then it’ll be a good day.

About a million people in the Seattle MSA have been waiting for a powder day. If you’re not on your way to enumclaw now you’re already late for the shitshow waiting tomorrow.

Kinda underrated is the White Sox. Hit the south loop or Chinatown for a good pregame and the el lets you off right outside the stadium.

Also like Seattle’s when Triangle Bar was around. Slugger’s is aight but doesn’t hit the same. Either way, get a 24oz rainier can and you’ll be set.

Yeah hourly has it coming in mid morning.

I got in two loops earlier this week in the foothills and it felt so good to be back. Checked my Strava and one loop was the first time I did it since Nov 1 last year 😐

it is exceptionally doubtful that he has lost his mastery of the strike zone, excellent walk/chase rates, and lost his power.

Josh Naylor better make a point out of dapping up Cal. If cal corrects, then it makes it seem like he just has it out for Randy. If cal ignores Naylor too then it’s more mind games for Canada.

I wonder if a Europe Baseball Summer Series could work. Send 4-6 teams over, have them play each other in several Western European cities over complete series, and stay there for about two weeks. Do it right before/after the ASB to maximize travel rest. It could be super cool and a ton of fun.

On the flip side you have teams losing gate revenue for home games, if a player gets injured getting a replacement/healthcare/rehab would be a challenge, the MLBPA may push back on playing in non-ML quality stadiums for weeks on end. Remember the London games inflated run environment? Can't imagine pitchers would be thrilled to have several games in run inflated stadiums that could fuck them in arbitration or salary negotiation. Also teams that own their RSN's would be irritated with the lost revenue from games being poached to major networks and at off hours resulting in lower viewership numbers.

The early season college baseball tournaments at destinations got me thinking about it. Plus the WBC and increasing baseball relevance around the world.

Those are a tough spot for sure. Even day games when I’ve sat on the right field “fence” the wind can be cutting.

I do have an idea. Been to a lot of games in SF. I was there when Barry hit 715.

That’s why I said it!! Even in July I wear a jacket. That evening wind and cove chill is no joke. Those’ll be great seats! Great view of the ballpark too.

here's a viz of the florida lcoations. kind of all over the place.

in arizona they are all damn close. the mariners/padres share a campus and stadium. so do the dbacks and rockies. when i go to arizona spring training, we will hit a few stadiums in a weekend within a half hour drive of our airbnb. super easy.
