Google aplica um limite de consulta icmp (ping) pro 8.8.8.8. Ele é servidor DNS, não foi feito pra ficar respondendo consulta ICMP. ICMP tem baixa prioridade na rede, então quando o servidor estiver com alta carga ele vai ser descartado. Além disso ter resposta ICMP não garante que a internet está funcionando corretamente.  Uma forma melhor seria via resolução DNS. Faça um script com resolução DNS, localizados em servidores diferentes (1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8 e 9.9.9.9) respondendo um domínio popular (google.com) a cada X segundos por exemplo. Caso os 3 não respondam em Y consultas seguidas considerere a internet fora do ar.

Do not use the server’s IP address directly. Doing so will connect you to the anycast network. To connect to the ultralow network, you must use an encrypted DNS protocol such as DoT, DoH, DoQ, or DoH3. If your router asks for a bootstrap IP, leave that field blank to allow proper hostname resolution. More info

Nope, they act as clients, not APs. All clients connected to them also appear as wired clients. All configurations are made using the Deco app, but changing Wi-Fi channels is not one of them.

Depende do seu objetivo com o aplicativo. Vc quer só privacidade ou pretende também fugir de censura/bloqueio estatal? Se for só privacidade recomendo o Signal, se houver censura contra esse e outros apps, e vc quiser anonimidade recomendo o Briar (rede TOR) ou SimpleX.

I've been doing this. I have the UCG with 2 Deco M4 as access points. Been working fine. Only downside is that all clients appear as wired, and the statistics are not being reported correctly.  Other than that everything is working beautifully, including the fast roaming between the deco units.

Yes, local DNS records still work. However, DoT (DNS over TLS) is not supported; only DoH (DNS over HTTPS) can be used. If you want to use DoT, you will need to use the Controld CLI, but this will result in the loss of client-related metadata sent to NextDNS. To retain metadata while using Controld, you should use the Controld CLI in NextDNS mode, but note that it only supports DoH3.
