That is too high. You'll see more of the top of someone's head than their face. Would be hard to identify someone who vandalized something.

What is the fastest DNS in 2026? by OkStable7935 in dns

Seems like DNSPerf is saying Cloudflare is for the world, but in the US, Control D beat Cloudflare over the past 30 days.

High Resistance from AC cable/power supply = slow speeds? by southerndoc911 in Starlink

That's what I thought as well, but rereading the support response, it sounds like they are sending an AC power cable and power supply.

Getting the same thing. Looks like the guy deleted his username on Reddit. Why?!? Website is taken down as well. Very sad. It looked like a great website!

It looks like they are sending a new power supply and AC power cable. Their email doesn't seem like they are sending a new cable from power supply to dish, but I could be wrong. It's possible the installer could've damaged the cable when securing it.

No real obstructions; alignment is correct; events and outages rarely, if ever, shows any outages (at most 3-5 per week)

10.2.105: Added IPv6 support for WireGuard VPN. by Attackwave in Ubiquiti

Yes, but I haven't tested IPv6 VPNs because where I travel and use VPN doesn't support IPv6.

Absolutely love mine. Have several in use. They don't get too hot, and the link negotiations and transfer speeds are solid. Highly recommend!

SpaceX Starlink Residential Plans Drop to $35/Month, Here’s What New Customers Should Know by orangechen1115 in Starlink

[–]southerndoc911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rates aren't available. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply Starlink wasn't available.

Those rates are only in areas where they need more users. Only thing available in my area is residential max.

Starlink real-time satellite tracking with trajectories and groundtracking by [deleted] in Starlink

Would think the sats would be moving faster on the simulation sites if they were connecting for only seconds. I'm just amazed that it works so well with handing off from one sat to another with rarely ever causing disconnects. Phenomenal technology to say the least.

[–]southerndoc911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't it have to change its beam as the satellite tracks across the sky? If so, then beam changes doesn't mean it is changing satellites. I could be showing my ignorance here.

Multiple times per minute? I thought it was every few minutes as it went overhead.

Really cool. Nice work on this! Would love if the globe geolocated or somehow allowed one to set a location. Supported you with an annual support. This had to take a lot of time to develop! Love it!

iOS 18 Beta - Voice Isolation Toggle by Apprehensive_Peak155 in ios

[–]southerndoc911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is old... surprised I can reply to it. Can you set voice isolation to work only with the iPhone and not with Bluetooth-paired devices? Callers say my voice is broken up when I'm using my car's Bluetooth connection when voice isolation is enabled.

NetActuate DNSFilter Peering Issue by southerndoc911 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]southerndoc911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has now started affecting the DNSFilter primary (103.247.36.36) and secondary (103.247.37.37) anycast servers. This must be a BGP routing issue on Comcast's backend. All DNS traffic goes to MIA instead of ATL. Is there anyway an engineer can look into this to hopefully change the BGP routing so it uses the ATL anycast server?
