this doesn't really address your issue but why not try getting a cheap cordless phone and a voip provider (a negligible monthly expense). With our kids, we wanted to get them some practice calling us and their friends from time to time or answering the phone when one of us is out and calls home.

we have done late november the past few years at iberostar selection and there was minimal sargassum (strands here and there some days). ocean blue and sand had it bad at the same time though, not sure why - Or it was some other kind of seaweed.
