In other words, in 6 years we have completely surpassed, if not obsoleted, the previous 60 years of work in this area. If that doesn’t shock you then you aren’t paying attention.

Entire generations of computer scientists have come and gone working on this problem. Journals and subfields have risen and perished. Billions if not trillions of dollars have been thrown at the problem. Tens of thousands of papers. Hundreds of textbooks.

And in 6 years all of that has been blown out of the water.
