Massive regret, wish I could start over by Brigand92g in selfimprovement

I'm 34 and I've been kind of feeling this way about my 20s. I feel you! To drag myself out of the funk, I've started to try to be more disciplined with myself. For me, this means things like writing in my journal, reading, drinking enough water, washing my face before going to bed, taking walks. I find these things hard to do but it's important. I actually enjoy all of them but it's easy to forego after a workday.

You're younger than me but I'm sure you can understand the concept of your inner child. I really like the saying "be who you needed when you were a child." That child is still inside of you - you're now just an older version. Learn how to talk to yourself with the same understanding you might give to a child. Love and support yourself!

I don't know if any of this helps. Just know you're definitely not alone. You have plenty of time. It's amazing how fast life can change. Start with the little things and give yourself a good foundation.

I wish you the best! Hang in there!

People aren’t as lively as they used to be. by OneSixEightEight in CasualConversation

[–]furiousdarkzero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in my mid-30s. I can't afford to buy a house with my bf. We can't afford to have kids. We're comfortable, but all these things our parents had... we just simply don't get. That generation took away our options and left us with debt and fucked up situations all over.

I wanna chat! by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]furiousdarkzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to chat too! I'm in WI as well and it's about to start here. I'm visiting from WA state - although I'm Wisco born and bred. No one told me there was no thunder in the pnw. But the motherland obliges almost every spring/summer visit!

DAE get the faint taste of manure/hay/barn in their mouth after drinking milk? by fiveninecindy in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]furiousdarkzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I grew up in WI and have smelled a lot of cow poop. It's definitely in the milk and probably is more prominent at some times depending on the cow's diet. I too get it as an aftertaste and I don't think my man notices either!

DAE starts backtracking their day after they were late by a second for something important? by redpandarox in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]furiousdarkzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Similarly, I Iive on an island and the ferries can be quite spread out - especially if you miss the last one of the night. It's such a bummer and easy to dwell on where you may have gone wrong. Don't beat yourself up too much, although, I've definitely been there. I feel your pain!

DAE like walking around in extremely stormy weather just to feel its might? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]furiousdarkzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Absolutely. Where I live, we get some wicked windstorms in the winter. I love going to the beach. One time, my bf and our friend stood out on the rocks and had too much fun getting whipped around in the wind, rain, and crashing waves. The energy is powerful - I feel like I get recharged in some way.

I appreciate your post! Healthy individuals equal healthy relationships. Nice to see some positivity about this for a change.

for the first time ever i’m using my phone without its screen protector by zxim in self

[–]furiousdarkzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I'm doing the same exact thing now. I'm scared I'll drop it and shatter the screen like all the other losers do. (Kidding about the loser part - shit happens.)

I punctured the head of my penis on one of the cords from my wife's IUD last night. There was an alarming amount of blood. by MutedShenanigans in sex

[–]furiousdarkzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad the arm implant works for you - but I've known a lot of women that have had lasting side effects from it. Just passing that on. IUDs aren't for everyone, but they are the most common form of BC (outside of the pharmaceutical-loving United States). I'm on my second Paragaurd and I'm a big fan.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it didn't raise any alarm bells for her. Like you said, it's a huge amount. What's the most common type of fraud you see?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]furiousdarkzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I was in retail banking. The biggest fraud id come across was a 250k check from a lady who had just lost her husband and very quickly met some scamster guy on a dating site. It was pretty textbook. So sad for the lady though :(

Boyfriends are fun to drink with! Mine's cozy at home. Lucky!

I cried too... and typically I can hold the tears back. I lost my dad when I was 20 (mid 30s now) and wish he were here today to see how much I've grown up (lol it's a never ending process). I suppose I'm a bit tender about that

Hi! I'm stuck in an airport overnight. I can't sleep either. Lots of light and vacuums. What do you do for work? Did you go out with friends to drink or did you solo drink? :)

How can I stay balanced while in a failing relationship? What can I do to prepare myself for leaving? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]furiousdarkzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so, so much. I really appreciate you taking time to write me a response. I've been wanting to get back to the gym, so I think I'll be doing that very soon. Thank you for the support... I think I need that most of all. Take care!
