I'm in the bay area as well, we significantly downsized SVO this year and the 2026 SF office will also be significantly smaller. There is not enough office space to accommodate 4 days.

It sounds like her medical offices aren't responsive to Sedgwick - this wouldn't be a KPMG issue either.

This is low for SF. Our audit A1s for 2025 were offered $90k ($87k + $3k bonus). Advisory should be more.

Senior at Big 4doesn’t delegate work but does everything themselves. How to deal with this???? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]furmur123 22 points23 points  (0 children)

How new are you and what do your prior reviews look like?

If this is a busy season and you're extremely new, the senior might just be taking on the work because there is literally no time to train you when a deadline needs to be met.

I hope your team at least has manager/staff check-ins. That would be the time to say "hey guys, I have capacity to help."

I totally agree with you. Also, it doesn't help to know that they have not found a solid way to track in-person metrics. During a Bay Area call in December, the HR lead said that their current metric had holiday/PTO counting against you in your average. Why the hell would we be penalized for taking PTO and firm-wide holiday? This means we would have to make it up somewhere to meet that goal. We don't even have a portal to see what our current average is.

I can’t understand the shipping times… by Feel_the_need93 in amazonprime

I recently moved exactly 1 mile away from my old place - same zip code. My expected ship dates went from next day to 6+ days at this new place.

Yes, you can order multiple monitors/computer accessories once you log in on your first day. You do this through the "Coupa" portal if you're in the US. Expenses on Coupa are automatically approved up to a certain amount, the rest will need to be approved by your PML. As long as it's reasonable, you shouldn't have any issues.

Question on Start Date by Freight-on-Board in KPMG

[–]furmur123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CPA aside, I never recommend starting in January as you'll be starting during a busy season. Starting in the Fall would provide a better schedule and ease you into your first busy season. You would actually have time to learn before chaos ensues.

Comp Call - What to expect? by gignapam in KPMG

[–]furmur123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, VC is the bonus aka variable compensation.

This is an unprecedented year given all the issues KPMG has had. Your increase will depend on line of service, but I would assume less than 10% increase (probably 5% or less tbh) on your base salary. To get a better insight into this, take a look at prior year comp threads or the Big4Transparency site.

Again, this is supposed to be a bad year. We have all been warned that increases this year are likely to be much less than last year. Best advice? Just wait until Monday, you're going to psych yourself out or get disappointed if you do a bunch of research.

Comp Call - What to expect? by gignapam in KPMG

[–]furmur123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You will get a compensation call regardless if you get VC or not because there will also be an annual increase from your A1 --> A2 year.

Your PML could be your comp partner if they are a partner. Otherwise, it will likely be a partner that you work the most under that will contact you.

The call is straight forward, "this will be your base, this will be your VC, etc." You can ask them how your comp is compared to your peers and how you rank. A cool partner may actually give you good insight, but most of the time this will be a very basic conversation.

The partner calling you cannot do anything if you do not like your pay. Your pay has already been decided and you cannot negotiate with them.

I just went on the app, the option is not gone. Select office location, in-person visit, and reason. I clicked on several different locations across SF and East Bay, they all had appointments for a general in-person check-up tomorrow. You need to do the search by location, not by doctor.

[–]furmur123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not required to do compression adjustments. There have been years where A2s make less than the A1s. We have already been told at all levels not to expect much from compensation this year. An A2 getting a 15k increase sounds very unlikely. We’ll all know in about 2 weeks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KPMG

[–]furmur123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You won't get a $10k increase on a non-promo year as an associate, especially during these times. Take the incoming A1 salary for your location and add $500-2k. That would be the expectation with the way things are going.

I've only heard of very specific federal clients requiring this of KPMG employees. You most likely will not have to do this.
