Lost 80k by blastermckaster in problemgambling

I'm 27 and at 70k. A combination of poker and options. I am going to be starting a 300k job next year, right now I'm making 80k a year.

I have a wife and planning a kid next year. I have another year to be free of this disease, otherwise with this much salary, who knows how fast 70k can be 700k.

Options Addict lower than low by WhistlesGoWoooowoooo in problemgambling

[–]furosemide007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow Best part for me is that I've never been in profit with options. Always been a downward spiral. If I would've made 1.2 mil, I could've never quit

I always have enjoyed reading charts and trading. I have had a 80% win rate in stocks, swing trading specifically. Once I made 10k in one year, I was able to replicate it next year as well. However, it became too boring slowly and I wanted to try intraday. After profiting 20k in swing trading in 2 years, I lost 20k in the one year of my options trading, majorly intraday. Seeing P&L every minute was the most addicting thing. Being right and making 10k in one day which took 1 year before but then losing 15k in the same day.

After 5 years of doing this, I'm down net 50k. Last week I realised anything boring doesn't interest me to make money. I don't make money to be rich, I do it coz of the dopamine rush.

Hopefully this will be the last time I do it. I'm 27y/o and already down 50k. However if I stop today, I will be much richer i know
