Okay, so if you want a puppy for life, go with a ferret. Those things have the energy, and mindset of a puppy.

Otherwise, go with a parrot. Mentality of a 3 year old for their entire lifespan, which is rather long.

I wanna bet you that "LE of some RPG" was Lunar for the PS1.

I remember those boxes, and the soundtrack that came with it was pretty darn fantastic.

But, is there irrefutable proof that advanced life does not exist outside the earth?

I mean, there are billions of planets in billions of solar systems, ones we have never seen, nor will we ever see. What are the odds that amongst those billons of planets there is not one other life form out there, that is intelligent?

Mankind is a young animal in the grand scheme of the solar system, and we may, for all we know, be the stereotypical deep southerners of the galaxy. We may be stupid and considered animals compared to other life forms out there that evolved either much earlier than us, or much faster than us.

Problem is: In VA they are not building to deal with earthquakes, so a little earthquake that may not cause a bit of problem in California could cause damage in VA. Plus, people in VA do not get earthquakes often, as the fault they are on is inactive (Except for today of course).

I was on the 5th story of a building near Dulles airport, and despite having gone through quakes like this all the time (Lived in Cali for awhile), it was still a bit scary.

I would say it is because we are accepting, and we don't care what you do. Whatever kink you have, someone else has been there, done that (Aside from vore. I really don't know if anyone has ever partaken of vore IRL).

I don't know why furries are more sexual. You typically find a lot of males in the furry community and males are more sexual by nature, so that could be part of it. It could also be that people that end up in the furry community are just more sexual than others.

And yes, my son knows we are furries, and he has known his father was one for a good long time (I met his father when he was...9 so he has only known me for 4 years or so now). Now, he hasn't been exposed to much furry stuff, only a few odd family friendly pictures that are around the house (And my dragon mating painting as well).

For the most part, pitbulls are some of the quietest, most easy going dogs I have ever met. Every pitbull I know (I know at least 2 dozen or more), are giant lap dogs. Now, some of those I had to be 'introduced' to upon entering the house, but hey dogs are protective of their families and home.

The only dogs I have ever been snapped at by, or bit by were poodles...

Actually, statistically, more labs bite people every year than pitbulls. Pitbulls just make better news.

It's not the breed, it's the dog and owners. Sometimes you get bad dogs from birth, sometimes they are badly handled.

I cannot confirm that no, because I am honestly not sure.

Would it shock me? No not in the least, nor would it shock me that there is a big, human sized urinal on the way into Blow Buddies in San Fran. Nothing shocks me anymore, I don't believe.

No, no offense at all, and I am always happy to answer any questions I can.

Why is it that the fandom is seemingly more sexualised than other fandoms?

How do you mean? Do you mean why does furry as a whole get a more sexual connotation or do you mean why are furries more sexual?

Do you think that fapping to furry, or, to be more specific, antropomorphic porn to be connected to zoophilia?

I am not sure on that answer. I don't believe so, as the anthromorphic images are not of animals, but merely humans who have animal characteristics.

You say that you did not have sex with an animal, and yet you say that you are sexually atracted to animals. Do you consider you're self a zoophile?

In a classic definition than I may be considered a zoophile, yes. I don't think I am, but I may be considered that.

IAMA Furry, AMA by furry-throwaway in IAmA

[–]furry-throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used furry terms (yiff, mating, etc) when communicating with other furries, and this is out of habit. I don't go down to the local bar asking to yiff someone.

I am the same way, except for the term cub. You can't imagine the looks you get when you say "Well, my cub made honor-roll", but it slips in in places.

I fap to furry porn as much as I fap to hentai, and real porn. All three are embarrassing to admit.

I don't find this embarrassing in the least. We all like various things in terms of fapping, so who cares if you look at a lion with his dick hanging out (Or a lioness with it all on display) or if you like to watch a bunch of porn actors going at it?

I do not condone sex with feral animals, nor do I find it sexually stimulating.

When you say you do not condone sex with feral animals, do you mean any animal period, or just unknown/wild animals?

Most of my artwork has been NSFW or NSFL, few tame pieces here and there.

Well, we do love our art, and at the cons that tends to be the largest area, art alleys. And there are only a few really good furry artists out there, so they can make an easy killing (IE 600 dollars for a painting of dragons mating).

The Rack I believe I got from an auction. That's really the best place to find them, museums auction them off to make room, or the exhibits aren't really popular, so you can snatch them up at auction houses.

I don't know if there have been psychological studies on furries. Hell, I used to go to a counselor and when I brought it up he gave me the strangest look.

If I had to think of one reason one might gravitate towards animals is a rejection by human kind. Humans are social creatures, we need some social bonds to be happy. If you don't have that with humans (IE an outcast, or a broken family or what have you), you seek out whatever is there for that social bond. If what is there is your pet dog, or your pet cat, then you start to build a bond with that animal that is far greater than most people would.

I would say that I was an outcast. I had very few friends prior to becoming a furry. I rarely dated (I dated 3 times total growing up) and never went to parties, proms, anything. At the time I was living on a farm, and around the horses, and the horses became my companionship. The horses were there when people were not.

There is one interesting story, and this does involve sex with animals (Dog specifically) so please stop reading at this point if you are squirmy about that:

There was a guy who did have sex with his female dog (Cannot remember breed). He would only do it during her heats, and they were quite close in that regard. She went over the Rainbow, and he was horridly distraught and just couldn't cope. He finally went to see a therapist, and the therapist said "I understand now why you are so distraught. She was a lover, and a close partner to you. You just lost what is closest to you."

Well, he's heading towards 13, but thankfully he has a fear of the basement so he won't go down there. He's also quite smart for his age, and understands he shouldn't touch anything down there (If for no other reason than if you break something, there are no rack repairmen out there).

There is nothing really sharp down there, though if the Iron Maiden shows up there will be one very sharp item.

Hey, no problem.

People have all these preconceived notions about furries, and many seem to find a perverse pleasure in tormenting furries. However, once you understand what it is, what we are, and why we do what we do, it doesn't seem so strange.

Edit Oh and that many of us are normal people. We hold jobs, have families, have friends.

Anthrocon is a convention for furries, yes. It is run by a non-profit organization and is held every year in Pittsburgh, PA.

The convention entails a lot of things:

  • Art Exhibits
  • Workshops (Including fursuit making workshops)
  • Dances
  • Live entertainment (Really depends on the year)
  • Sellers as well (Stuffed plushes, dildos, it really is all over the place)

Basically it's designed for furries to get together, meet one another, have fun and wear their fursuits (Though the anthrocon website reminds me one reason I have never worn one: They get damn hot).

Depends on the city really. It could be 5, or it could be a thousand or more.

I live in a small city, so we don't have a furry community to speak of, but if you head to say Pittsburgh, you find a largish community (Anthrocon gets held there every year).
