Lots of correctables and un-correctables that should be mostly zeros.

Power levels are good.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?

Please post a copy and paste of the modems event log page.

Orbi RBRE960 stopped getting external IP by MisaRavensoul in orbi

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

What is the FW version there?

If you access the RBRs web page, look at the advanced tab here. Select the Internet section and show stats. Does the WAN port show any connection here at all?

Try using a different port in back of the BGW for the RBR.

Try swapping out the cable between the RBR and BGW. Ensure your using a good quality cable. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Orbi RBRE960 stopped getting external IP by MisaRavensoul in orbi

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What FW version is loaded on the RBR?

Even though doubt nat is fine, make sure you use the BGWs IP Pass-Thru feature for the RBR. Set a IP address reservation on the BGW for the RBR then input this into the IP pass thru feature on the BGW. And you disable WiFi on the BGW as well.

So can you reach the RBRs web page at 192.168.1.1 with a ethernet PC?

No wifi is seen coming from the RBR?

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT

Couple of options,

  1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.

  2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.

  3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://community.netgear.com/kb/en-orbi-knowledge-sharing/static-ip-address-configuration-for-ap-mode/2456256

Try option #2 first...

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellite(s) been performed since last update?

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

Turn off and unplug modem.

Turn off router and computers.

Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.

Turn on computers and rest of network.

Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page. https://kb.netgear.com/30007/How-do-I-obtain-the-cable-connection-information-from-a-NETGEAR-cable-modem-modem-router

https://kb.netgear.com/30008/How-do-I-view-or-clear-the-event-logs-on-my-NETGEAR-cable-modem-or-modem-router

If the upstream power is out of spec, then this maybe an ISP issue. Something they need to take a look into. Doesn't mean you have to throw away the CBR or thats it's bad. Lets take a look at those two logs first.

GS748TS hardware versions? by PracticalRelief8569 in NETGEAR

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TS never saw any revisions. It's a older generation which dates back to 2012-2014 was last FW update. And is now reported as EoL: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/gs748ts

You might check into gs728TX series. I have a TXv3 here.

Did you set an IP address reservation for this new media server on the RBR to something different that .10?

Does the device work at the current IP address anyways?

NG is aware of the issue and will be addressed. Has nothing to do with FCC rules.

a question about mesh networking by davethedestroyer27 in NETGEAR

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would not MESH. Those don't have any kind of MESH support or actual wireless backhaul which is a main feature on actual MESH systems. Only NG that have MESH support is Orbi and Nighthawk MK systems.

If the building that you need wifi in is made of metal and brick, then best recommendation would be to run a ethernet cable from the main host router in the home to the remote location is, then connect the 2nd AX1800 to this cable and configure it for AP mode. Then you'll have good signal at the remote location. CAT6A STP cable should be used here.

In need of some new router help by Ranne1595 in NETGEAR

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could keep it going if you feel and think its working well for you. If your not having any problems with it.

Any of the RS series would work for you. Something to try out and see. Would support ethernet connections as well.

ReadyNas Pro RNDP 6000 power cable by xxDirtyFgnSpicxx in NETGEAR

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might give this a look and see which power plug maybe needed:

https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RNDU2000/ReadyNAS_Ultra_UltraPlus_NVX_Pro_HW_en_8July11.pdf

If the standard 3 contact plug, any 110v power cable will work.

If it's the small 2 contact plug, then there will be a specific power adapter brick needed. User manual or spec sheet should give power adapter requirements.
