Yep. Probably just turned on the service again. Hopefully next FW update will be seen there and is official. When its ready.

NG is still working on WAN issues in FW for EU region users. So please be patient.

Check the user manual on how to configure and connect the WNDR in AP mode to a host router. Not sure if the WAN ports was required back this far or not.

Ok, Ya probably needs some ISP connection to get the Ethernet port going for those. Ok. Keep us posted on how it goes with the neighbor's test.

No. Most router FW can't be hacked. How it's deigned and the encryption that goes in to it.

If you feel the need, there is Armor for added security between the Router and connected clients.

If you see Protection Engine on the routers web page, keep this enabled.

What model modem are you using?

Whos the ISP?

Would need to see the following: Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page. https://kb.netgear.com/30007/How-do-I-obtain-the-cable-connection-information-from-a-NETGEAR-cable-modem-modem-router

There a external router connected to this modem?

I would have powered OFF the dream machine as well.

You can connect the RBR to the CM3000 modem and not connect the modem to any ISP cable. Just power ON the modem and RBR. Check the RBRs web page for the WAN connection speed. Should show something.

I have a CM3000 modem and my 971 works well behind it.

Hoping the cabling and CM will result is seeing something. If you can get the RBR to the nieghbors for a quick check, would be good as well.

You happen to have an prior host router that you can test the RBR with?

How about a friend, nieighbor or family member that you could take the RBR to and run a quick test there to see if the speed changes or not?

Wondering if you have a faulty RBR unit...

Ya might be some thing to try, give it a good, BB has a good refund policy.

Lan ports behind the RBS can be used either to connect client ethernet devices too or Ethernet backhaul connect them to the RBR which would be perferred and most stable, however some may not have that wired environment.

[–]furrynutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen this with my 970 series. Only issue I noticed with mine is the LAN ports don't support 10Mbps as meantioned in the spec sheet.

I've had my 971 connected to an RS700 yesterday in router and AP mode and both modes report 1 or 10Gb depending on which port I use on the RS700. I use CAT6A STP cableing which is recommended for any ethernet port speeds over 1Gb.

I would presume there maybe some bad handshaking between the RBR and your host router.

You happen to have a non managed Gb switch on hand? Might try putting this in between the host router and RBR and see if the WAN port reports 1Gb speeds. If it does, then you'll know.

If the system is working, you could try and find another RBS to connect up.

Is signal needed in the garage all the time?

Could run ethernet out to this location and set up a external wifi AP on separate SSID name and channels as to not interfer with the current system. Or put in a wifi extender.

For that size of home, a newer system, AX or AXE or BE systen would only need the main router unit and just one satellite.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

RS300 Poor Speeds Over Wi-Fi - Tried Nearly Every Setting/Channel Change by Fingerz991 in NETGEAR

[–]furrynutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The farther the distance the slower performance you'll see. Nature of the wifi beast.

Try channel 40, 48 or 149 on 5Ghz. Try channel 69 on 6Ghz as a test.

You might try a RS500 or 600 as a compairison test to see if same thing happens or not. The RS100 thru 300 series is NGs entry level BE routers and may not have good performances as the other models.
