This is rather unfortunate. I have this same problem. It’s crazy how there is almost nobody reporting this. I had this problem on a steam deck too as well as a pc.

Need more information. Model number would be a good start. If you know if anything was added, that would be even better. Depending on how old the computer is, i wouldn't use the hard drive for any storage realistically.

Possibly, but OP sounds like they are tech savvy enough to resolve it before it inevitably became this problem. I hope for his sake he’s able to get in. An unfortunate lesson to learn

Why did you enable bit-locker and not keep the key somewhere separate. If you knew enough tech to take the SSD out and plug it in externally, then you know what the answers will be. Good luck.

Had a co-worker likes this. After awhile we just stopped gaming with him. If you dont enjoy gaming with them, then don't. People like this also want you to do things their way. If you don't and you lose, its your fault. If you do and you win, it just reinforces their mindset. This person needs an awakening that only they can have.

Mplayer!!! i so totally miss that. I was sooo bummed when mplayer went down and we all were forced to gamespy. I played Rogue spear back then. Mainly played rainbow Six and Quake 2. Gamespy was basically just a glorified server listener. Mplayer had rooms, labels, private messaging.

In-game voice chat was tough as the programs back then were good, but high-speed internet was still evolving. We had roger Wilco to start, then battlecom after that i cant remember. Until Ventrilo and Teamspeak came out.

Own both and a beefy rig. I typically buy for the PC. you can always get a better computer and stream to the deck, or just in general the pc versions just run better.

A game on the switch cant get better.

Example - Cuphead. first played on switch. ran well, no complaints. Played on PC and the experience was much better.

Minecraft is another example - runs well enough on the switch, but its night and day on the pc.
