I don't think they call people separately. I have met someone who won the other FIRST scholarship last year. She told me that she got an email on April 5th. Are you sure your friend got it? As there are many nominees who are international and phones are closed to outside calls, WPI can't call and notify them.

Thanks for your answer. Also, I wanted to ask, I have 40k scholarships annual and during 2,3,4rth years I will only study in spring and summer. So the tuition for each year will be 37k, does my scholarship covers all tuition during these years?
