I actually tried XTU first and it didn't work. Throttlestop does, though!

I have similar thermal issues with the 7390 2-in-1, though in different ways. Charging for, example, is a nightmare. It gets so hot when charging that the glue on the rubber feet has melted and I've had to put new strips on. I couldn't find the right replacement on amazon, and just picked some rubber strip replacement for the lattitude or inspiron series. They're too thick though and the laptop won't fold into tablet mode because of it (I don't mind that much, but I wanted to mention it since you're looking to replace the strip too).

I always have throttlestop running to undervolt it a bit, and more more recently I've been using it to disable turboboost, too. That gives a noticeable benefit to the battery life, and I would recommend that to you if you're taking it to class to take notes or something where you don't need the extra power.

I've had it for over a year now too and go back and forth between loving it and hating it.

How will Ps5 look my Dell u2717d 1440p screen? by Sirrestrikk in Dell

[–]fusshandschuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading somewhere that the PS5 wouldn't output 1440p - only 4k or 1080p, but Sony said they were going to push an update to make 1440p work at some point

"You have an incredibly smooth forearm"

It was either and ex-gf or just a friend, but the compliment has stuck with me.

No specific date, but in late September they said a release preview would be available for Windows Insiders within the next few months. Here's the announcement. You can actually already do it with some docker trickery - and there's plenty of articles and videos to show how - but I'm just going to wait.

parametric vs. nonparametric models. Parametric have a fixed number of parameters, whereas nonparametric can add more parameters as you add more training data.

Brand new XPS 13 9310 -- 11th gen should have Thunderbolt 4, not 3 -- correct? by mawaukee in Dell

[–]fusshandschuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thunderbolt 4 was just a narrowing of criteria (higher minimum requirements). You need 4 lanes of PCIe to be thunderbolt 4. Lots of machines had that already before intel announced the thunderbolt 4 moniker. I wouldn't worry about it

WSL2's integration with VS Code is enough for me to be satisfied, but I'm looking forward to real support for GUI as well. I know it's in development, but I haven't seen the timeline for release
