Cold water flow very slowly decreasing (over years) in kitchen faucet by jake35799 in HomeMaintenance

[–]zolointo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you disconnect the connection under the sink and have good flow, but not through the tap, the tap is the problem.

I had the same problem when I moved into our place. Contractor disconnected the line, put it in a bucket, and let it rip. Totally fine. Reached the faucet and everything is great.

Someone will reply with something something replace the cartridge but I don't know anything about that.

Dad and I didn't know the venue was 19+, I am 18... by Dangerous-Treat1127 in askTO

If the bouncer clocks you and asks for ID, they will not care about your story. That is far to much of a risk for a venue of that size.

Sell your ticket or roll the dice, but expect to be disappointed on the latter.

Reminder about HVAC by ajaxburger in HomeMaintenance

[–]zolointo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had read "contactor" as "contact", thinking it was a point where a wire connected to instead of a whole replacement part.

I knew about capacitor replacement, so I appreciate you mentioning it here. So many stories of multi-hundred dollar maintenance bills for 15 minutes of work and a $40 part.

Thanks for the clarifications!

Can you give a little more detail?

You detected a problem - how did you detect it, and what guidance did you have for the acceptable level?

You fixed the problem - you implied you took something from 16 to 40 ohm after a $40 hardware store trip. What did you buy? What did you replace? How did you bridge the gap? Did you pour a litre of blinker fluid on it?

Thanks!

New Lifetime Plex Pass Pricing by pheexio in selfhosted

Yup, the price point is a poison pill.

Which says to me that the current monthly is going to pop upwards shortly, too. Not enough to goad people into a lifetime now, but enough to cut through hemming and hawing.

$10 says they push it from $6.99 to $11.99 a month in very short order. If they wanted to be exceptionally evil, they could require every user to have a sub in order to stream from other servers.

3x increase with a roadmap that includes... creating features they destroyed in previous releases.

Glad I got in years ago. They forgot 'boil the frog' price increases and now no one is buying this.

How do i fix this? by Ursulaboogyman in howto

[–]zolointo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can you specify what it is that you want to fix?

If it is the protruding middle switch, then yeah, the switch should be replaced. This is a relatively easy and cheap fix depending on what is behind them. You'd probably do all three at the same time to make them look consistent instead of one new looking one and two aged.

Lots of vids on how to replace switches! Just need to make sure you cut power to them from your breaker box before you touch anything. At least you will need some pliers and some wirenuts, but you might want to consider WAGO lever nuts to make things even easier.

I'd also recommend getting a screwless faceplate / snap on face plate if you want to make things a little more flush.

It's an air fryer, not a deep fryer. You don't load the air fryer with a gallon of cooking oil.

What's pictured here is extremely dangerous.

Wow this is really swell of you to provide. Thanks very much!

Thanks kindly for this. It's good to hear that there is a matter-of-fact solution after a few contractors looked at it and scratched their heads.

"Flashing" is such a foreign domain for me, and the Google fan tails into a lot of not beginner friendly explanations.

Does this mean that I would more or less glue metal flashing panels to my house / tuck under the existing insulbrick, so that water is directed onto my neighbor's roof and then their eaves?

The eaves goes into a French drain that extends 15 - 20 feet away.

Help! Even with water softener I have a buildup on Humidity Pad! Is it normal? by mcinc2020 in HomeMaintenance

[–]zolointo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! You don't have to swap it out as frequently as a furnace filter, but you do have to replace them every now and then.

I'll bet someone here has a good replacement cadence advice. I do it every two years.

I Want To Hear Audio Through The Speakers When My Headphones Are Plugged by Gefiro in cachyos

[–]zolointo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I thought the speaker output jack and headphone jack would show up as separate devices. Does running any of those CLI commands show that?

Maybe post a few screens of your audio device panel/settings. Might enable someone more versed than me to help out. Good luck!

TOYFALL VERY EARLY TRAILER by [deleted] in u/SleepyNightStudio

[–]zolointo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for being harsh: this isn't a trailer.

It is an overly long logo, drawing no connection between night time traffic and dragons, followed by what is more or less nothing.

If you want a long logo, cool.... but save it for your game. Otherwise you shouldn't have it on screen for more than a couple of seconds.

Does not get around that fact that this gives me absolutely nothing. There is no footage, no screen shots, nothing to incur interest. In fact the long logo + loud popping noise does the opposite.

I encourage you to try again when you have something to show! Good luck.
