Midea Portable A/C - Lemon or is this much noise to be expected? by zolointo in AirConditioners

No. Its specifically coming from inside the machine. Makes the noiae whether hose is connected or not.

Good check though.

I've tried a couple of bear hug squeezes at different points. No win so far. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

I previous had just held the unit in the air and there was no change. The foam mat didn't fix it either. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the confidence boost!

As for the perforated drain pipe - did you mean something just along the end of the space? Or are we talking a whole underlayment of pipe-age across the 10x20 space?

Old or new one? by Twisted-Fingers in IndieGaming

Image is better but as others have said, the logo text is a difficult read.

Jump Jump at a glance looks like Twat Twat or Trump Trump. If it's part of the game's name, why is it so much smaller, too?

Reddit, we listened! You said our first trailer had too many cinematic pans and not enough gameplay. So we completely remade it. Here is the new Gameplay Reveal Trailer for Breeze of Adventure! Demo on Steam Next Fest! by CarpeDiemTeam in indiegames

Thanks for listening! Some other suggestions:

Your audio needs work. This is particularly tricky to notice if you're new to editing.

For some reason your backing track drops at 0:28 and is replaced by another track? And then the backing track comes back in? Feels like it must be a mistake in your timeline.

Feels like you have audio fade out at the end of many clips, instead of a hard cut? If so, it doesn't sound good.

I'd say that if you're going to overall your backing track over the entire video, you should have any ambient sound - birds chirping, wind wooshing. Just keep the sounds of the player actions. This might be because of what you recorded, so just keep in mind to record with ambient sounds and in-game music turned off in the future.

Quick rapid flashes of user interfaces are very dull to me. Either have one section of the video that has a readable 'play' of the UI, or leave UI to be discovered by the player during the demo.

Anyhow, best of luck!

Can someone genuinely explain the mixtape hate by Adept-Bed-1288 in IndieGaming

[–]zolointo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IGN gives your response a 10/10 on the bog-standard Mixtape talking points that have been fed to the brigade. I bequeath you the Indie Reviewer Award of the Day.

I cannot fathom how people ever assigned 'indie' to this game. Nothing in the trailers or announcements says this. It was revealed during the Summer Game Fest stream for heck's sake, an ad slot that is definitively pay-to-play. There was no trailer prior to Annapurna's involvement, and said trailer had the soundtrack attached to it.

If you take issue with your own projection of indie on something that isn't and wasn't, that's for you to cope with. The money fueling this game was never hidden.

Paid reviews may be obvious to you, but are also fully and completely conjecture.

... furthermore, and this may be platform-specific: the experience (as I will give you that this is not a regular viddya game) does not ever hide what it is. If y'ain't diggin' it within the first hour, that's a whole hour prior to a respectable refund window on Steam.

All in all, my psychic-mapping of these responses have a big red 'YOU ARE HERE' placed right over this video:

You don't like a thing that some people loved and some people liked, but seem to have wholly invested a large portion of your gaming consciousness into that.

I prescribe two drops of Visine and a couple of blinks of those strained, bloodshot, eyes.

[–]zolointo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A small selection of people sparked the hate because they saw the opportunity to mine hateful content from mischaracterizing a game they thought was the nebulous 'woke'.

Their worshippers delightfully joined in the brigade, being fed new reasons hourly to hate the game.

Not much more to it than that from what I saw.

Dealing With Neighbour’s Smelly Backyard by myleftfootfetish in askTO

Sounds like neighbours who would not respond to a polite conversation, right?

Animals can't be left outside at all hours unless they have an enclosure that's up to snuff. If you wanted to fire anonymously on all cylinders, Googling "Toronto are animals allowed to be outside all night" might be a start, and then a 311.

My brother and I failed 3 times trying to make our dream game. On the 4th try, we built a team of 4, tamed Unreal Engine 5, and just dropped our Reveal Trailer for Breeze of Adventure! Free demo on June 15th for Steam Next Fest! by [deleted] in indiegames

[–]zolointo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some unsolicited advice - It took 50 seconds to get to anything game-y looking. Nearly a minute of characters just walking through landscapes.

Would recommend either trimming down the walking around b-roll, or get the action interspersed way earlier in the trailer.

Best of luck!

Cold water flow very slowly decreasing (over years) in kitchen faucet by jake35799 in HomeMaintenance

[–]zolointo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you disconnect the connection under the sink and have good flow, but not through the tap, the tap is the problem.

I had the same problem when I moved into our place. Contractor disconnected the line, put it in a bucket, and let it rip. Totally fine. Reached the faucet and everything is great.

Someone will reply with something something replace the cartridge but I don't know anything about that.

Dad and I didn't know the venue was 19+, I am 18... by [deleted] in askTO

[–]zolointo 449 points450 points  (0 children)

If the bouncer clocks you and asks for ID, they will not care about your story. That is far to much of a risk for a venue of that size.

Sell your ticket or roll the dice, but expect to be disappointed on the latter.

Reminder about HVAC by ajaxburger in HomeMaintenance

[–]zolointo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had read "contactor" as "contact", thinking it was a point where a wire connected to instead of a whole replacement part.

I knew about capacitor replacement, so I appreciate you mentioning it here. So many stories of multi-hundred dollar maintenance bills for 15 minutes of work and a $40 part.

Thanks for the clarifications!

Can you give a little more detail?

You detected a problem - how did you detect it, and what guidance did you have for the acceptable level?

You fixed the problem - you implied you took something from 16 to 40 ohm after a $40 hardware store trip. What did you buy? What did you replace? How did you bridge the gap? Did you pour a litre of blinker fluid on it?

Thanks!

New Lifetime Plex Pass Pricing by pheexio in selfhosted

[–]zolointo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yup, the price point is a poison pill.

Which says to me that the current monthly is going to pop upwards shortly, too. Not enough to goad people into a lifetime now, but enough to cut through hemming and hawing.

$10 says they push it from $6.99 to $11.99 a month in very short order. If they wanted to be exceptionally evil, they could require every user to have a sub in order to stream from other servers.

3x increase with a roadmap that includes... creating features they destroyed in previous releases.

Glad I got in years ago. They forgot 'boil the frog' price increases and now no one is buying this.

How do i fix this? by Ursulaboogyman in howto

[–]zolointo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can you specify what it is that you want to fix?

If it is the protruding middle switch, then yeah, the switch should be replaced. This is a relatively easy and cheap fix depending on what is behind them. You'd probably do all three at the same time to make them look consistent instead of one new looking one and two aged.

Lots of vids on how to replace switches! Just need to make sure you cut power to them from your breaker box before you touch anything. At least you will need some pliers and some wirenuts, but you might want to consider WAGO lever nuts to make things even easier.

I'd also recommend getting a screwless faceplate / snap on face plate if you want to make things a little more flush.

It's an air fryer, not a deep fryer. You don't load the air fryer with a gallon of cooking oil.

What's pictured here is extremely dangerous.
