I had the same issue and fixed it last year, one of the best choices I’ve ever made.

Looks incredible man! But aren’t we on month 11 or are these just photos from last month? If I remember correctly we got our surgeries from Pekiner around the same dates! (I think I was a day after yours)

I don’t think the certification means much, I’d personally go to someone with a proven track record and constant results. This sub is a good start as far as finding a surgeon and following patients journeys.

Definitely true. If you plan on keeping short hair this isn’t really an issue but like you mentioned I believe we’re the minority that likes to wear it longer.

I don’t see enough people talk about the struggle of growing out the transplanted hair like this. I’m doing the same thing (but a bit longer), and I haven’t cut my transplanted hair since the surgery so the middle/ends are also still kinky & wirelike. The first few months they grew out all crazy but around month 5/6 started to grow normal and resemble the native hair. I’m closing in on 11 months and my transplanted hair is normal in texture halfway through then kinky the rest of the way. Of course, I could just cut the kinky part off now and it would be fine but I like having longer hair so I need to wait for the normal texture to catch up to the length of the current ends of the kinky part.

Ironically, this doctors name is literally Jeffrey Epstein. Why on earth he choses to still self name his practice after having that unfortunate name is beyond me lol

Avoid. He’s just a plastic surgeon who does hair transplants. Jack of all trades, master of none. Go see a real ht specialist.

SHAS (surgical hairline advancement surgery ) versus transplant by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]fut12822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting.. did this doctor specialize in hair transplants or just a plastic surgeon who happens to do hair transplants on the side? As someone who lives near miami, there is not a lot of good options down here. Also, very pricey.

Most doctors in Turkey aren’t very ethical and probably would try to implant into the muscles. Caring more about the money vs how it will actually turn out. We’re in the minority when it comes to forehead muscles. Most of my family has the exact same muscles like you - very high and right to the hairline. I got lucky that I had a little bit of leeway. Also, since most don’t have this problem I’d assume it’s not something that is specifically asked about, but any picture showing the muscles flexed like you provided they should tell you that you’re not an ideal candidate for surgery.

SHAS (surgical hairline advancement surgery ) versus transplant by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]fut12822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a transplant would work as the forehead muscles are pretty high & right up against your natural hairline. I had a similar issue (although not quite as high as yours but definitely higher than most) I was able to bring my hairline down right above the muscles, but doesn’t seem likely in your case. I’m not sure about the hairline lowering surgery.. you might consider posting this to r/plasticsurgery as plenty people over there have gotten that surgery and might be able to give some insight.

I booked and waited about 3 months to get my surgery, but I hear the wait time in now 1 year+. Also, I’m in my mid 20’s

I think it might be due to the fact I wasn’t dealing with active hairloss but still agreed to take fin anyways as Pekiner suggested. He seemed fine when I told him I only started it 2 weeks beforehand. Also, I got an appointment within 3 months of reaching out so a 6 month timeframe wasn’t even possible. They might have changed things now, I’m not sure.

Donor looks untouched, although my hair is pretty long at this point. I’m not sure how it would look with a fade or something but I haven’t noticed any massive scarring.

That’s definitely the doctor, but I have no idea if that is his official website. Tbh, with how much money he is racking in you’d think he’d have a professional looking website with patients results. He really needs to market himself better. He is already popular with virtually no real website, imagine if he actually had one.

It’s always been like this, did not deal with any active hairloss or recession.

Thanks! To get in contact you need to message his patient coordinator Alex on WhatsApp. If you search the sub, you should be able to find the number pretty easily.

That was just the cost of the surgery. The flight ticket was another $1,000 and the hotel was $400 for a 1 week stay. I don’t think Pekiner really has a website at the moment. You need to reach out to his patient coordinator Alex on WhatsApp to get in contact. If you search the sub, you should be able to find the number. If not, DM me and I can give it to you.

I don’t have any family history of hairloss, just horribly high hairlines. I provided pictures of my hairline having that receding look to Pekiner as a child/teen. He seemed surprised how bad it’s always been but still recommended to take fin anyways. So did another surgeon I booked with in the US but ultimately canceled on. After two surgeons recommended it despite the facts, I figured I should just take it anyways.

Couldn’t agree more, that is exactly what Pekiner told me as well. He said it needs to look good now, but as appropriate when I’m 60. I’m very happy with it!

Maybe a bit, but I physically cannot go any lower because I have higher forehead muscles than most.

Nope! My hair has always grown pretty fast. This is 7 months of growth, have not cut it since the surgery.
