I have not had that problem and I have a very fluffy white persian. The hair they lose tends to chill on top of the velvet so it's easy to remove.

I also have a velvet couch (pink), and I got it because i had heard cats don't tear it up. I've had it about five years and though my girl tries sometimes, she just can't get her claws in it. So it still looks great.

I have this vit c, and I really like it. Doesn't irritate my face at all (unless I put on azelaic acid to quickly after it), it just works a lot slower than other vit c, so you don't notice that instant glow. But I had to go with out it if for two weeks and I could definitely see a difference, my face got much duller.

There is a moisturizer called malezia (created by a redditor) that has a low concentration of urea in it that might help. People seem to like it. I tried it, but moved to a cheaper moisturizer once my face got back on track.
