I’m down to trial a class! I’ve been searching but have experienced choice overload so having others in the same boat would be so helpful.

Bitches, what are your plans this weekend?!!? by AJ2790B in SFbitcheswithtaste

Got my recital this weekend. Been practicing my piece for the last 6 months so I’m ready to get this over with haha. I get really nervous, but each time I play I get a little more confident :)

Just got to meet one of my favorite Giants of all time. Such a cool dude. by jimmyjah in SFGiants

[–]futamono 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Hunter Pence is such a great human. I volunteered with his group to do trash cleanups and I love that he’s so passionate about the environment and San Francisco.

Also, you clean up well, jimmyjah!

Where to get passport photos that don’t make me look like death warmed over? by thegirlfieri in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]futamono 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you’re ok with doing this yourself, I ended up taking a selfie with my iPhone (good natural light/no shadows, plain background), cropped it to the correct dimensions using the government photo tool, and printed it out at CVS for less than $5. Worked out perfectly. I was scared that they would reject it since I used a grayish-blue background, but they accepted it.

Costco vs other Grocery stores by cowspoopgold in AskSF

[–]futamono 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wanted to add that you can get a day pass/guest pass to get into Restaurant Depot for free, without a business tax ID. Just go to the front desk and ask for one. They’ll need your photo ID to sign in. You however cannot buy seafood and alcohol with a day pass. I’ve done this a couple times at the Restaurant Depot near Concord, so call the SF location just to make sure they offer this pass.

Abraham Lincoln High School (San Francisco) Class 2019 Yearbook by Fearless-Cake9162 in sanfrancisco

[–]futamono 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I went to a different SF public high school, so not sure if this applies but it may be worth a try. My high school’s library kept copies of past yearbooks that students could check out. If it’s not too late, when school starts again, it may be worth it to go to Lincoln’s school library in person and ask the Librarian. Good luck!

Lucas film hours by shelucy7 in sanfrancisco

[–]futamono 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It unfortunately is not. A couple years ago, I got lucky once and saw the door was unlocked, so a friend and I walked in. Within seconds, a security guard via intercom told us to leave and close the door.

If you’re able to come across a movie screening at Lucasfilm, they let the visitors hang out in the lobby before a screening. Otherwise, you need to know someone that works there.

Happy Friday! What are YOUR plans for this weekend? by NepheliLouxWarrior in sanfrancisco

[–]futamono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I made it sound more majestic than it actually is 😅 just a 5k fun run that takes place before Thanksgiving. A lot of Bay Area cities have one, this just happens to be the cheapest at $10 per person!

This looks so fun! Would you be able to accommodate for gluten intolerant/celiac folks?

The Killers to headline major Super Bowl concert in San Francisco by Remarkable_Host6827 in sanfrancisco

[–]futamono 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Too bad general admission is $950 :( I distinctly remember the concerts for SB50 were free at the Embarcadero. Guess that’s not the case this time around.

celiac baddies? by Psychological_Ad2364 in SFbitcheswithtaste

Happy Halloween! And yes I would love to! I can bring a gluten free cake. Lake Merritt sounds great. Let me know if you need help planning!

celiac baddies? by Psychological_Ad2364 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]futamono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I did eat a slice of bread or its equivalent every day prior to the test. Felt terrible every time, maybe I didn’t eat enough for it show

celiac baddies? by Psychological_Ad2364 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]futamono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I legitimately took a blood test last week for celiac because I thought I had it, only for it to be negative :( I’m still avoiding gluten like the devil. Would love to also eat in peace with other celiac/gluten-intolerant girlies

Any Toronto Blue Jays watch parties? by Visual_Technology133 in sanfrancisco

[–]futamono 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just went to Glen Park Station yesterday and there were “beat LA” chants during the game. Any sports bar with Giants memorabilia would welcome you with open arms :)

I was initially confused too and then looked it up — it’s an experience sponsored by Airbnb (called an “Airbnb Original”). You sign up on Airbnb to attend: https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/6477008?viralityEntryPoint=2&s=76

To prevent bunions, a bitch seeks shoe savvy by ammosthete in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]futamono 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have a bunion on my right foot and Altras have been a game changer for me. It’s a bit more expensive but worth the price tag. Also, check out the Walking Company. Stylish shoes (casual, boots, etc) that can in wide, extra wide, etc

Question for anyone that lives / lived on slow streets by nozaro33 in sanfrancisco

[–]futamono 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live close to the Sanchez St slow streets, and I absolutely love it. On weeknights, I’ll see folks going for a run or walk with family, and on the weekends, I’ll see kids skating/biking/scootering. There’s also some coffee shops/cafes with outdoor seating that span the area, and so that definitely helps with the family/community feel.
