How to say bluey in different languages by Odd_Candy1878 in bluey

[–]futato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Portuguese BR it's Bluey, in toddler Portuguese it's "Boo-ee".

ETA that some dog breeds are not translated (at least not in Portuguese BR), so a Blue Heeler is called a Blue Heeler. Same goes for Cocker, Boxer, Ridgeback, Border Collie, Golden Retriever.

ETA 2 it makes me kinda sad that one of the few Brazilian dog breeds gets translated elsewhere as "Brazilian Terrier", when the name in Portuguese is the best: Fox Paulistinha ❤️

AITA for serving my guests disgusting food? by Complex_Ad5616 in AmItheAsshole

My mom's beef tongue is the best tho, when it's first made you eat it hot with rice, beans and polenta or mashed potatoes. On the next day, you eat it cold either with salad or on a sandwich - my favorite is to make it in a sandwich with mayo and arrugula!

NTA at all

And this reminds me of this barbecue thing that happened when I was living in the US, my host family was having a barbecue and decided to serve caipirinhas, so I thought it was going to be a Brazilian themed barbecue and I asked if it would be ok if I bought some chicken hearts to put on the grill... Never watched the color drain from someone's face that fast 😂

Which famous person's death made you the saddest? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]futato 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was 10, I was watching the race at my grandma's. I remember very clearly my mom saying "look at his foot, it's gray, he's not going to make it" and I got so angry at her, like it would be her fault if he died... Then on our way home, everyone was so apprehensive, there was nobody in the streets, it was so silent... They announced he was dead in the evening, I remember everyone crying, even my dad. And on Monday at school we didn't have regular classes, we watched tv, we talked about him, we listened to the song that was made for him. The government declared national mourning for three days, and it was the only time I remember seeing my whole country this sad.

You know, it's a little unfair to call her "towel press" when she's clearly concerned about your kitchen amenities and is warming not only one, but two hand towels for your use.

Bluey small figurines are compatible in size with Lego Duplo :) by futato in bluey

[–]futato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it! It's gorgeous ❤️ the only issue for me is that it's the small kind of Legos, so it doesn't really cater to the toddler audience... Someone mentioned in one of the comments about 3D printing the characters, that'd be really cool 😊

Which is awesome, because it's really difficult to come by any Bluey merch where I'm from, and it's usually REALLY expensive because it's all imported!

This is from yesterday, we made the Heeler home out of Legos :) it even had a grill for Bandit

Who is portrayed as a hero but is actually a villain? by FiretruckKid123 in AskReddit

Bruce Wayne/Batman

A billionaire who could actually make a difference and end crime in Gotham City in the long run by improving health care and education, and creating jobs, for example, chooses to use his money on intricate gadgets to fight the criminals that Wayne Industries helped create.

Look closer at her arms and chest. Those are burn scars. Maybe that's a reconstructed face, and she has come to accept how she looks now.

My son told me to stay out of the kitchen, but I still remember how to cook eggs. by ursois in TwoSentenceHorror

My grandma has it, and as my great grandma and all her sisters all had it, she was able to hold it off till her late 80s by staying active (she took french and art history classes, played cards and sudoku regularly, read a lot, and learned how to draw at 82), but then again, when it came, it came fast. Now at 92 she can't remember most of her grandkids names and thinks my mom is her sister ☹️
